Shades of Blue Season 2 Cast

Shades of Blue: Lolita Davidovich Out, Margaret Colin In Ahead of Season 2

Ray Liotta’s Shades of Blue wife will be sporting a new look when the NBC cop drama returns next year.

Lolita Davidovich — who played Linda, the spouse of Liotta’s Lieutenant Matt Wozniak, in seven Season 1 episodes — has exited the series ahead of Season 2, TVLine has learned exclusively. Gossip Girl vet Margaret Colin has been tapped to assume the recurring role.

According to an NBC rep, Davidovich departed the series due to scheduling conflicts.

This marks the second major piece of Shades of Blue Season 2 casting, following Wednesday’s announcement that Breaking Bad alum Anna Gunn was coming on board as a dirty cop-turned-Machiavellian politician.

Production on Shades of Blue‘s second season began earlier this week in New York. It’s slated to return to NBC’s schedule at midseason.

Nice, solid drama. Looking forward to season 2.

Now to address the weakest link in the series, JLo. If that happened, I would consider coming back for season 2. The cast surrounding her is what elevates Shades of Blue.

  2. Tim says:

She probably doesn’t get along with Ray Liotta.

  3. dsrbroadway says:

I never thought she fit that role well, she never left an impact. Margaret Colin knows how to work with big acting like Ray Liotta does.

I love Shades of Blue. Liotta absolutely makes the show and JLo is (not necessarily) surprisingly really good. The stories are intriguing Well written and good cast. I wonder if they intend to give Woz’s wife a somewhat meatier role than just long suffering understanding trophy wife and thus the reason for the change. Looking forward to Anna Gunn’s addition. Bring on S2.

  5. MMD says:

I like Margaret Colin. Will be a good addition.

  6. Sarah says:

Maybe “scheduling conflict” is code for “I’m out because this show is a raging stinker?” I could never get over how so many good actors (J.Lo excluded – she was expectedly bad) managed to be so terrible in this show. Which is usually a sign of bad direction and/or bad writing. Is J.Lo self producing this, or was something crazy going on when this got a second season?

Love Margaret Colin. She is not at all the same “type” as Lolita Davidovich, though, so it should be an interesting switch.

  8. HAP says:

Can’t imagine Davidovich having a scheduling conflict. According to IMDB, she doesn’t have much on her plate right now. Which brings me to ask about a story TV Line ran over a year ago about her joining a TV pilot called Dr. Del. Did anyone ever pick that up to series?

  9. Jed says:

Margaret Colin is awesome. One of those performers who should have become a household name with a big TV series, but was never in the right place at the right time. She’s beautiful, sexy, and can act. I’ve never seen this show before, but I’ll tune in just for her.

  10. Marla says:

I’d watch it if they recast JLo.

  11. Ann Huskey says:

Love Margaret Colin and Justin Deas. Hope they both get huge parts and become household names.

  12. Grumpiestoldman says:

Margaret was excellent. And much prettier.
