Fall TV Preview

24: Watch Trailer for Fox's Legacy

The countdown to Fox’s next 24 incarnation is officially on — and we suspect you’ll want the seconds to tick by much faster after watching a trailer for the upcoming Legacy reboot.

Corey Hawkins (The Walking Dead) stars as Eric Carter, a former Army Ranger who, upon returning to the U.S., turns to the CTU for help in saving his life and stopping what could potentially be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.

Miranda Otto (Homeland), Jimmy Smits (Sons of Anarchy), Anna Diop (The Messengers) and Teddy Sears (Masters of Sex) round out the cast of the new chapter, which will consist of 12 episodes (but, unlike the limited-run Live Another Day, is an ongoing series).

24: Legacy will debut after Super Bowl 51 on Sunday, Feb. 5, before settling into its regular Monday-at-8 pm time slot the following night.

  1. Kevin K says:

Eric Carter the new Jack Bauer? Hope 24 might get a big boost after the Super Bowl.

  2. mike says:

    llook good

  3. Billy Bob Johnson says:

24: Legacy = Bourne: Legacy. I predict epic failure. He is not in Sutherland’s league.

  4. Dick Whitman says:

    Sign me up.

  5. M3rc_Nate says:

The girlfriends dialog is AWFUL. Really? “I think you need to get past everything that happened to you over there”? Oh okay, thanks babe, I’ll just get over that PTSD real quick cause you said so.
Overall, I am burnt out on the terrorism plots. When 24 first started it was fresh and new, it felt like “what if this could happen” or something. But since then every single cop/agent show has had their terrorist cell story-line. Their “disarm the nuke!” story-line. It is old, tired, and has minimal effect on me. Heck even “Castle” disarmed a nuke in the middle of NYC.

    I’m in!!

  7. jazzyt2u says:

I’ll give Dr Dre three episodes. Hope it’s good. If not I hope he doesn’t get killed on the Walking Dead…

  8. John says:

Here’s hoping for a Yvonne Strahovski cameo/surprise appearance.

    • Faye says:

I was so hoping she would have been chosen for the lead. There’s going to be tough comparisons of the new guy to Keifer that Yvonne would not have faced.

  9. liame says:

I’m so in with this action thriller. I didn’t enjoy the other series because of Sutherland’s “voice”, it was like a whispering out of breath type sound coming out of his mouth, it was annoying and so was he.

  10. James D says:

Just ain’t the same without Jack. Corey is a fine actor, but this just doesn’t seem very interesting, and to reiterate what others have said what is with that dialogue from the wife, wow.

  11. Eric H says:

I’ll definitely be checking this out after watching the trailer. The trailers shows that while some 24 stuff remains the same, there are also some new changes that should help it (interesting premise and what looks to be a more cinematic camera style) stand out from the previous series.

  12. Falcon says:

I love Corey Hawkins and on the strength of him alone I am excited for this! I never watched the original 24. I don’t generally do action shows (and Keifer Sutherland never did anything for me), but this looks AMAZING.

Also, Jimmy Smitts! Yep. I’ll be there. With bells on.

  13. ToyCannon says:

Could we at least have Chloe back?

  14. Oh boy my DVR is going to so hate me

  15. Rob says:

Do we know yet who is playing Big Bad (at least for the first 6 episodes as 24 normally goes) Ben Khalid?

  16. Geoff Gentry says:

OK how will this work? It is in Gotham’s spot. So will Gotham air all but 5 eps then have 24 on in Feb. – April?

  17. jenndeve says:

Looks great! Would love to see a familiar face or two from the old guard, but this looks worthy of the ticking clock for sure.

  18. Tony says:

Looks good. And I’m not gonna judge the wife’s dialogue over one little snippet. I’ll judge it after hearing it in context.

  19. Greg says:

Wonder who the mole is going to be. What if they bring back Jack, and he’s the mole?

    • Zerb says:

Kiefer’s gonna be busy with his show on ABC. Appearing on multiple shows isn’t out of the norm, but seems unlikely in this case.

  20. Diz says:

He’s no Jack Bauer & the POTUS sounded terrible.

  21. DT says:

    Um…no thanks.

  22. lrdslvrhnd says:

Meh. I’ll be surprised if it’s actually “a continuing series”. I had hopes for it, until I saw the trailer. Now I’m not gonna bother.

  23. RichieS says:

Not watching unless Tony Almeda is back.

  24. Rob says:

Me in 2006: I can totally see Jimmy Smits as the President.
Me in 2016: Jimmy Smits as the President? Yeah right!

  25. aditya says:

so many bad trailers for the fall..he is no Sutherland..this is going to be epic failure…better watch the old 24 than watch this ….

  26. Sita I says:

OK, intriguing enough. For me also depends on HOW MUCH AIRTIME IS JIMMY SMITS GETTING.

  27. Lizz says:

I will definitely be checking this out; so I’m in.

  28. JMill33 says:

Looks really good. It’s on my calendar and the sooner I can set a series record on the DVR the better.

  29. Kathleen Turner says:

Kiefer Sutherland needs to be in 24. He was fantastic!Bring him back.
