Orange Is the New Black Season 4 Trailer: 'Suffering Is a Choice' — WATCH

Still psyched about those brand new bunk beds, ladies of Litchfield?

Probably not — given that the new furniture means an influx of new inmates, which just amps up the fear, anger and overall dread that permeates the women’s prison in the first official trailer for Orange Is the New Black‘s upcoming fourth season.

“I have been in Litchfield for a while now, and I am starting to feel unsafe lately,” Piper announces near the beginning of the video, which illustrates exactly how much the correctional facility has become “sardine town, bitches” (thanks, Aleida) now that it’s a for-profit prison with 100 new residents.

It’s not even like the new CO’s are any help — though we do love that Red seems to be the only person in the building not afraid of the big, bearded one. And who do you think might’ve put Crazy Eyes in the hospital?

On the lighter side: Taystee is killing it as Caputo’s receptionist, Soso and Poussey share a close moment, and Pennsatucky drops some knowledge when she invokes the mantra repeated by people stuck in terrible situations everywhere: “Pain’s always there. But suffering is a choice.”

Well that looks bleak… I wish it looked a bit more comedic

I’m already excited! This season looks very interesting! I can’t wait to see it in a month.

Can’t wait for this. Though I’m almost certain the socialist in me will find the premise of this for-profit sardine can prison increasingly maddening if it in any way reflects the real world. I just hope they open/shut down Supermax to save money and we get back Nickles and Miss Claudette. And Ruby Rose, even though I can’t remember her character’s name.

  5. Amanda says:

Ok….I will ask the question! When will some of them get out of prison? I thought Piper was only doing 1 1/2 years, this is the LONGEST prison sentence ever! shouldn’t they be switching some of the prisoners out by now???

    • N says:

Depends how they do time on the show

    • Adam says:

No because each season is only a few months. I just recently re-watched the first three seasons and S1 starts in the fall and ends around Christmas. S2 Is winter and has Easter, and S3 ends in the summer. The way this is going, Piper could conceivably be in there for Seasons 4 and 5

    I’m so excited!

Love this show. However it looks way more like a drama instead of a comedy!?!! What gives?!?

  8. Phil says:

Is Laura Prepon leaving again? Didn’t see her in promo. Or Sophia?
