Cynthia Nixon Nancy Reagan

TVLine Items: Nixon to Play Reagan, Impastor Return Postponed and More

Given her presidential surname, Cynthia Nixon‘s next role seems all too appropriate.

The Sex and the City alumna will play First Lady Nancy Reagan in NatGeo’s upcoming adaptation of Killing Reagan, based on Bill O’Reilly’s book.

Nixon will star opposite Hart of Dixie‘s Tim Matheson (as President Ronald Reagan) in the project, which explores how the assassination attempt made on Reagan’s life impacted his time in office.

Airing in fall 2016, this will be NatGeo’s fourth take on an O’Reilly book, following Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy and Killing Jesus.

Dang it. I don’t want to wait for Impastor. I need my few summer shows to help me get through the long 4 month lull of my favorites. XD

  2. Support Impastor & Galavant says:

Ok. I don’t know what the heck is up with Tv Land *shakes head*. In MY opinion, Impastor is the best show they’ve got going. It’s the best original programming they’ve ever aired. Period. Yet they push Younger & Gaffigan (allow them more advertising space) and treat this show like dirt. IT’S NOT! The powers that be over at these big and small networks need to understand that some of the most original & quality programs out there are unpopular BECAUSE they’re so unique & it doesn’t help matters when they place them in throwaway timeslots like midseason or when they’re placed against other, more popular, shows & on top of that given very little time to find their niche audience.

(This post applies to ABC’s Galavant, too)

I don’t expect ABC or Tv Land to hear a word I’m saying, but I just have to get that off my chest. I miss these shows. I want them back because, besides them, this tv season has been terrible, IMO.

  3. Should we be worried about Impastor?
I really like it. TVLand does a great job with its comedies.

  4. Sheila says:
