CBS' BrainDead: Aaron Tveit Issues a Disturbing Warning in New Promo

Aaron Tveit has some sound advice for Mary Elizabeth Winstead in TVLine’s exclusive promo for CBS’ BrainDead: “If I were you, I’d run.”

We can’t say we disagree with his words of wisdom, and neither will you after seeing what’s in store for Winstead’s character on the Good Wife creators’ twisted political dramedy. In this promo alone, she’s mocked, threatened and outnumbered by… well, we’re not quite sure. And something tells us that ambiguity is what’s going to make BrainDead so enjoyable to watch.

Premiering June 13 at 10/9c, BrainDead stars Winstead as a fresh-faced Hill staffer who discovers two things: the government has stopped working, and ‘bugs’ are eating the brains of Congress members. Additional cast members include Danny Pino (Law & Order: SVU), Tony Shalhoub (Monk), Nikki James (The Good Wife) and Johnny Ray Gill (Rectify).

Yay! This looks funny and entertaining, I’ll admit I’m a little biased because I simply adore Aaron Tveit. Between this and the Alias feature, TVline made my Friday.

  2. Looks delightful, count me in.

  3. Jankins says:

Yes. Anything with Mary Winstead you can count me in..

  4. Steven says:

Love the cast, love The Good Wife, and love the whimsy feel of the promo. Feels like a Bryan Fuller series in the best way.

  5. Wordsmith says:

Love the concept, love the cast, but I’m not totally in love with this promo. It’s not quite punchy enough with its hook moments/one-liners, and not quite cohesive enough to paint a picture of the world of the show.

  6. Joey Padron says:

New promo looks good and funny. I’m excited to see the show and see Aaron back on TV this summer like he was in Graceland!

  7. Could be this summer’s “Wayward Pines” hit, and this one looks like it would make sense to maybe renew for a second season. Was Graceland cancelled? That would bum be out.

  8. Marj says:

Satire is the only way to appreciate politics. Like Invasion’s take on McCarthy, Braindead promises more of that smart skewering. Another grateful fan here of the versatile Aaron Tveit.

  9. It’s not a TV show. It’s a diagnosis.

  10. Weezy says:

Could be interesting if done right, but I’m betting it won’t be considering the network. Probably just alot more propaganda and social division tactics masquerading as reality.

Yes, I definitely plan to watch it. I am a big M.E. Winstead fan and I find that when she is the lead character most anything seems to be good. This sounds like it’s going to be both bazaar and funny and may turn out to surprisingly good. And it’s an election year. Good timing.
