The Catch Doctor Who Master

ABC's The Catch Casts Doctor Who Vet John Simm as Grifters' Benefactor

ABC’s The Catch has cast Doctor Who and Life on Mars alum John Simm as the mysterious benefactor who has been backing Ben and Margot’s schemes.

Per our sister site Variety, Simm will make his debut in Episode 6 of the midseason #TGIT drama (airing in late April), and appear throughout the back half of its 10-episode freshman run.

In addition to his recurring stint as Doctor Who‘s The Master and as the original Life on Mars‘ “time traveler,” Simm’s TV credits include Intruders, State of Play, Sky1’s Mad Dogs and The Village.

The Catch continues its run this Thursday at 10/9c, with Episode 3.

  1. Diane says:

It’s about time Simm gets to play with the big networks! His talent has been hidden for far too long! Great actor!

  2. Wendy says:

So it’s the 2016 answer to Daniel Chalmers and Remington Steele in 1982? Deos that mean this guy will end up being the grifter’s father, just like then?

    • Sue says:

Unlikely as Krause is 5 years older than Simm! Can’t wait for this – John Simm is one of the best British actors around. Just don’t keep him over there too long.
