Young Restless Alicia Coppola

Another World Alum Alicia Coppola Joins The Young and the Restless

Alicia Coppola is returning to daytime-TV for the first time in more than 20 years, since wrapping her award-winning run as Another World’s Lorna Devon.

Fresh off reprising her role as NCIS: Los Angeles‘ FBI Agent Lisa Rand, Coppola has signed with CBS’ The Young and the Restless. Per Soap Opera Digest, she will recur as Dr. Meredith Gates, who debuts April 13.

Describing her first take on the character as “dynamic and interesting,” Coppola told Digest, “She reminds me of Lorna. She feels things very deeply.”

Coppola’s other previous TV credits include NCIS and its sire JAG (as Lt. Cmdr. Faith Coleman), as well as JerichoAmerican Dreams, Criminal Minds and Sons of Anarchy.

Great news for Alicia! I have followed her career since Another World. I was hopeful NCIS LA would sign her as I like her character.

  2. DavidSask says:

I love her so esp.being back on a soap. R.I.P. Another World, my childhood soap! Having this talent as recurring and not a fleshed out role confirmed is not a good sign though?!!

  3. Mr. Tran K says:

Great to see her back on daytime TV in over 20 years. Alicia Coppola was so great during her amazing run on Jericho.

  4. GraceM says:

Wasn’t she on Law & Order when it was on?

I’m surprised she’s going back into the soaps after twenty years.

Not sure about the Mothership, but she was on Law & Order: Criminal Intent as the widow of a hitman in “Never Forgotten” in Season 3.
