Marvel Captain Britain Series False Rumor

Marvel's Captain Britain Isn't TV-Bound

The Marvel superhero Captain Britain will not be the subject of an imminent TV series, contrary to rumors swirling out there in the ether.

Sparking the talk was a series of tweets from poster artist Ciara McAvoy, who teased the imminent casting of Captain Britain for a TV project:

Well-placed sources, however, assure TVLine that the rumor is “not true.”

Created in 1976 for the Marvel UK imprint, Captain Britain was the alter ego of Brian Baddock, a physicist whose parents died in a (seeming) laboratory accident. Upon nearly dying in a motorcycle crash, Brian was offered by Merlyn and his daughter Roma the Amulet of Right, which transformed him into Captain Britain.

Wish it were happening. So much potential

  2. ? says:

He’s never been a great character (not even when Alan Moore was writing him) but a lot of his supporting cast is great and his world has a lot of interesting potential. Still many better choices to topline a tv series.

  3. Stan Lee says it is happening, & I believe him before you.
