Lion Guard Renewed

Disney Junior Renews The Lion Guard, Orders Vampirina Ballerina Series

Disney Junior has renewed two hit series while greenlighting a pair of new ones.

The Lion Guard, which follows the adventures of Kion, the second-born cub of The Lion King‘s Simba and Nala, has been picked up for Season 2, as has the Goldilocks riff Goldie & Bear.

New to the preschooler-targeting cabler is Vampirina, an adaptation of Disney Publishing’s Vampirina Ballerina book series about a young vampire girl who faces the trials of being the new kid in town when her family moves from Transylvania to Pennsylvania. (What does she feed on, strawberry Quik?) Key members of Doc McStuffins‘ creative team are behind the series.PUPPY DOG TAILS

Disney Junior also ordered to series Puppy Dog Tails, created by comedian and actor Harland Williams and centered on two fun-loving pug puppies, Bingo and Rolly. Sean Coyle (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) will serve as an exec producer with Williams.

I caught an episode of The Lion Guard at my son’s Pediatrician’s office; it was cute and it even held my attention. However, a vampire show that targets preschoolers…NO.
