TVLine Items: iZombie's Rob Thomas Meet-Up, Kevin Cancelled and More

iZombie will soon tell a tale of two Rob Thomases.

In a turn of events that we can’t believe hasn’t already happened, Matchbox 20 frontman Rob Thomas will guest-star on the CW dramedy, created by TV vet Rob Thomas.

According to TVInsider, Thomas’ voice will first appear in Episode 17, when he records a jingle for Super Max. He’ll then show up in the flesh on the April 12 season finale, where he’ll perform a solo song at the Super Max launch party.

  1. PriceIsRightCancelled says:

Happy about Terrence J’s new TV gig since his departure from E! News.

  2. Christina Reynolds says:

I have been an @iamrobthomas fan for years and I love iZombie so I am very excited about this news!

  3. peterwdawson says:

Wow, awkward (or fortuitous, depending on how you look at it) timing with Confirmation’s release. Should be interesting though.

  4. until just this moment I thought there was only one Rob Thomas and that he was just a really busy multi-talented guy.

  5. william says:

Isn’t it amazing that they put 7 seasons of Children’s Hospital into one year.

  6. DebG says:

I saw iZombie and Cancelled in the same headline and my heart sank. Phew, I read it wrong! Don’t do that to me TVline.

  7. E says:

I loved Kevin From Work. It was super cute

  8. cuius says:

When will they learn – Keven From Work, A To Z, Manhattan Love Story? Those quirky two-handed rom-coms can just about sustain a 90-mins movie, but not a TV series, unless they have an exceptional script, characters or cast

    • Patrick says:

Really. There was too much going on in this one, and the female love interest wasn’t very likeable. I loved the show, and his sister was great, but the sassy Indian girl was grating, and his meathead friend got very old, very quickly.

  9. Annie says:

OH how delightful! All through the Veronica Mars Kickstarter, Rob Thomas had this running joke about how he was the less famous Rob Thomas and how he would try to get the other Rob Thomas to sign things for fans.
Kinda a nice circle to see them coming together.
