Fox has set a premiere date for Season 2 of Wayward Pines, which last summer was the top-rated drama during its run. Additionally, Empire‘s Terrence Howard is now among the Season 1 stars set to reprise their roles.
Premiering Wednesday, May 25 at 8/7c, the 10-episode Season 2 will pick up after the shocking events of Season 1, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. Theo Yedlin (played by The Lost Boys‘ Jason Patric) – a new resident of Wayward Pines – awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race.
Joinng Patric and Djimon Hounsou as series regulars will be Season 1’s Hope Davis (American Crime) and Tom Stevens (Cedar Cove), returning as Wayward Pines Academy principal Megan Fisher and First Generation member Jason Higgins, plus Nimrat Kaur (Homeland), Josh Helman (Max Max: Fury Road) and Kacey Rohl (Hannibal) as Theo’s wife Rebecca, Wayward Pines resident Xander and Jason’s lieutenant Kerry, respectively.
As previously reported, Carla Gugino, Melissa Leo and Charlie Tahan will, in a limited capacity, reprise their roles as Kate, Pam and Charlie. Fox has now also confirmed that Howard, Toby Jones (Captain America), Shannyn Sossamon (Sleepy Hollow) and Tim Griffin will also put in appearances, as former sheriff Arnold Pope, David Pilcher, Theresa Burke and Adam Hassler.
