Dermot Mulroney Joins Bunker Hill

Dermot Mulroney Joins Jason Katims' CBS Medical Drama Pilot

Dermot Mulroney has been admitted to Bunker Hill, CBS’ medical drama pilot from Friday Night Lights and Parenthood EP Jason Katims.

The potential series follows a young Silicon Valley tech titan (The Borgias‘ Augustus Prew) who enlists a veteran surgeon with a controversial past in starting a hospital with a cutting edge, “new school” approach to medicine.

Mulroney, whose recent TV gigs include arcs on Showtime’s Shameless and Fox’s New Girl, as well as a series-regular stint on HBO’s Enlightened, will play said veteran surgeon Walter Wallace, a brilliant doc committed to saving lives who might care a little too much about his patients.

The cast also includes Brenda Song (Scandal, Dads) as Angie, a programmer at Bunker Hill Hospital who is blunt and unintentionally abrasive.

Katims penned the pilot and will serve as an EP alongside Michelle Lee and David Semel, who’s also the pilot’s director.

  1. Steven says:

Good, does this mean he’ll leave Shameless. His character has zero chemistry with Emmy Rossum.

    • Annie says:

God I hope so. Somehow I found they’re sex scenes ever creepier than the lesbian affair Franks trying to push Debbie into

  2. Mr. Tran K says:

Don’t know if Dermot Mulroney’s new series is going to bounce back since Crisis (NBC) got canceled.

  3. Shannon says:

This role seems sizable enough to preclude him from being a regular on Shameless next season. Very interesting, especially given some highly publicized spoilers for this season’s finale.

  4. Lauren says:

Finally his character can OD in Shameless.

    • bwhit says:

So I’m not the only one who thinks that is where they are going? I just don’t see him taking off or something like that. I feel like that’s why they showed him have a slip up.

  5. Guest says:

Surely there are other stories that can be told outside of medical or law enforcement.

  6. PatriciaLee says:

Now, if they’d just segue it into another Diagnosis Murder, we’ be on board. (hint, hint, suits)
