Demi Moore to Star in Drama Series From Rookie Blue Co-Creator

Demi Moore is getting back to her small-screen roots — and her next role is more G.I. Jane than Ghost.

The actress is set to topline 10 Days In the Valley, a drama series from Rookie Blue co-creator Tassie Cameron, our sister site Deadline reports.

The project stars Moore as Jane Sadler, an overworked writer and single mother in the middle of a difficult separation. When her 5-year-old daughter is taken from her bed in the middle of the night, Jane is forced to put everything on the line to get her child back.

10 Days In the Valley, which is currently being shopped to networks, marks Moore’s first major TV gig since General Hospital, where she played investigative reporter Jackie Templeton from 1981 to 1984. She also appeared on episodes of The Master, Moonlighting and Tales From the Crypt before turning to a career in film.

She is incredible, with the right material. She has chosen poorly, but with her career having died since the late 90s (Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle being her only real success in this century) she would have to trust this is the right move.
Sounds very event driven and not long term.

  2. Joe Weidt says:

Demi Moore with a 5 year old daughter. Riiight.

    • NM says:

In this day and age, people are having children in their 50s. (E.g. Halle Berry). Also, she could have a daughter that’s adopted. It doesn’t specify that her character’s child is biological.

  3. Sounds very similar to Missing which starred Ashley Judd. Minus the whole CIA element of course.

  4. ChicagoDan says:

Since the character is an actor, a five y.o. IS plausible through adoption or surrogacy. Like Jennifer Lopez, this could give DM a chance to show her grittier side. It will all come down to writing and the ability to take what could be a TV movie concept and make it into a series.

Where did you get that she’s an actor?

“The project stars Moore as Jane Sadler, an overworked writer and single mother “

  5. Yay! Sounds great. Demi is fantastic and deserves a new starring role. Let’s just hope they’re not gonna sell this to CBS, because they have a tendency to cancel all (drama) shows with female leads.

And please bring back Missy Peregrym.

  7. Louise says:

I liked ‘Rookie Blue’, but this will not last and does not even sound interesting. She couldn’t make it in movies any longer so she has to make a living doing something so she can keep her life style. This is not it.
