Game of Thrones Season 6 Teaser: Is [Spoiler] a Goner?!

There’s no new footage in this teaser for Game of Thrones‘ sixth season… but when you reach the end of the clip, we’re thinking you won’t care much about that.

The short trailer, leaked online Sunday, shows several familiar (also, dead) characters’ faces in the House of Black and White’s face repository — you know, where Arya seemingly went blind in the Season 5 finale.

Ned and Catelyn Stark are there, as is King Joffrey. And the last face? It’s Tyrion. And he’s surrounded by other living (as far as we know) faces, such as Daenerys’ and Arya’s. BUT WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

  1. Kevin W. says:

    Already nuked by HBO.

  2. Bobwehadababyitsaboy says:

It means they’re still desperately trying to get viewers to believe he’s “dead” so when he comes back it generates more buzz

  3. Cornelius says:

Really hoping Lady Stoneheart does happen :(

    • Phoenix5634 says:

I honestly think she will show up. The showrunners have known since the very beginning that Martin wouldn’t finish writing the series by the time the TV series caught up. So they purposely held back many exciting plot lines from the earlier seasons, so they could use them in the later seasons, and simultaneously make the earlier seasons less crowded, and make the later seasons more filled out. Examples; the Greyjoys, the Freys, the direwolves, Lady Stoneheart, just to name a few. Thats what some of the modifications to the past seasons, from the books have been about, extending certain characters storylines or changing them in a way that they can come into play in these later seasons. I’m really excited, GoT has amazing writing, forethought, acting.

  4. JF says:

Pretty sure even though Tyrion is center, if you look around him, it’s all of their faces. Pretty sure that’s Dany just to the right of him and I saw Sansa’s, too.

  5. Chadwick says:

All of the other characters’ faces are surrounding Tyrion’s.

  6. ABG says:

Yeah at least 3 characters shown there are alive. (2 if you-know-who from the books stays dead on the show, which is likely after 3 seasons of misdirections).

  7. Nick RNZ says:

If you actually look the last frame has 6 alive characters featured. It’s just a tease showing no one is safe.

  8. Sara says:

Its not just Tyrion. If you look around his face, a bunch of major (still alive) characters are there too.

  9. Vincent says:

I don’t think it means anything. At the end of the trailer, all the characters’ faces ended up on the wall. Does that mean all of them die? I don’t think so.

  10. TJ says:

The obvious answer to this puzzler is Valar Morghulis. All men must die.

  11. Atia says:

What does it mean? My guess is absolutely nothing except that someone thought it would look cool in the trailer.

  12. WMusic says:

sansa and cersei are up there too! don’t think they’re actually going to all be dead, just a metaphor for how nobody is really safe.

  13. Hawk says:

All Men must die. Sooner or later. They all do. Even the characters perceived as survivors/winners in this game: eventually will die too.

  14. Tamim says:

I think it means that, though we are very much invested in the lives of all of these people, in the end it’s still just a game because life will eventually end for everyone. Every face eventually ends up on the wall. No one, that we know of yet anyway, is immortal.

  15. Billy Bob Johnson says:

Since they’re making it up as they go along now, anything is possible. Maybe they all die in season 6. Surprise! End of show.

  16. AngelWasHere says:

    I can’t wait for season 6!

  17. Turtle says:

I think what is most telling was Jon Snow was between the transition from dead to the living and that is what they wanted to tell us.

  18. The Dicksta says:
