Galavant Sneak Peek: Sing Along to Gareth's Less-Than-Flowery Love Song

This Sunday on Galavant (ABC, 8/7c), love is in the air.

We think.

You see, what King Gareth (played by Vinnie Jones) boasts in brawn, he is painfully lacking in the lyric-writing department. Nonetheless, he has a song in his “chest chunk” that he needs to get out — and luckily, a bouncing wingy-beast is on hand to walk you through the words in the above sneak peek.

In the first of Sunday’s episodes, fatally wounded Galavant is rushed to a healer named Neo of Sporin, while Roberta and Richard almost share a tender moment. Elsewhere, Madalena finally shares her true feelings with Gareth, seemingly teeing up the above tune… or not.

In the second half-hour, Madalena seeks to learn the “Dark Dark Evil Way” (or D’DEW), while Galavant struggles to lead an army of [SPOILER]s.

  1. Such a fun show. Hope it ends up on a streaming site when it’s ultimately cancelled due to ratings issues–too much of a niche show to get big numbers.

    • Too niche and too nice. I think Netflix should make a statement (due to this show’s quality and acclaim) and renew it for 2 seasons after it gets cancelled. And maybe make the seasons each 20 eps. Really stick it to Network TV / Nielsen Ratings. It would be the first time something like that happened. Mindy Project doesn’t count, it’s ratings were higher than this.

Every time I watch the show I walk around the house singing “Galllavaaaant” for hours.

That was hilarious! The “bouncing wingy-beast” did add a bit of flowery goodness that made it all the more charming. I kind of wish they’d do sing along versions for all the songs, I can’t get the closed captions on my old-timey tv.

Awww. And wow, they filmed at the most gorgeous garden!

I think it would be a marvelously meta joke if Galavant really were leading an army of [spoiler]s, and the camera keeps cutting away from them so we don’t get to find out what they are until the big finale. They could even do a song teasing us about not telling us what they are.

In reality, I’m hoping it turns out to be an army of those sword-wielding orphans and urchins from his father’s school. It would be visually entertaining, and there are so many “child soldier” jokes to be made…
