Legends Tomorrow Jonah Hex Cast

Legends of Tomorrow: Jonah Hex to Be Played by Johnathon Schaech

Johnathon Schaech‘s conventionally attractive face is about to get plastered with one ugly scar.

TVLine has learned that Schaech has been cast on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow — The CW’s imminent Arrow/The Flash offshoot — as the DC Comics outlaw Jonah Hex.

“Ever since we decided that Legends would involve time travel,” says exec producer Marc Guggenheim in a statement, “we were eager to do a story set in the Old West. But if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply must include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well-known, beloved DC character to television.”

Hex is described as a “true legend” of the Old West, a morally ambiguous gunslinger with a penchant for danger. Surprisingly, he knows a thing or two about time travel and the future, but is at home in the Wild West. Having battled outlaws and gangs for a while now, he advises Rip Hunter’s team of time travelers to be extra careful when they arrive in the small town of Salvation.

Legends debuts this Thursday at 8/7c; Schaech — whose recent TV credits include Quantico, Texas Rising, Star-Crossed and Ray Donovan — will first guest-star in Episode 11, with a possibility to recur.

“conventionally attractive” made my day. Its a perfect qualifier. Bravo.

    • Drew says:

I honestly would have left off “conventional” – I don’t think a qualifier is even needed! Attractiveness is subjective, of course, and I found him attractive on The 100, so it’s all in the eye of the beholder. Not sure why it was used, but c’est la vie…

  2. “Surprisingly, he knows a thing or two about time travel and the future” interesting acknowledgement of the Hex series from the 80’s.
