Agent Carter's Return Pushed Back By Obama's Final State of the Union

Agent Carter‘s Season 2 premiere has been delayed by a force even mightier than Marvel.

President Barack Obama’s State of the Union — typically reserved for the last Tuesday in January — has been moved up to Jan. 12, forcing ABC to delay Carter‘s sophomore run until Jan. 19. (Thanks, Obama!)

Though the preemption wouldn’t have impacted Carter‘s initial Jan. 5 return date, postponing the Hayley Atwell-led series will allow it to run uninterrupted for all 10 episodes. (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s March 8 return date remains unaffected.)

POTUS’ final SOTU will also preempt fresh episodes of NBC’s Chicago Med and Chicago Fire, and Fox’s The Grinder and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, all of which are still scheduled to return from winter break on Jan. 5.

Crushed by this scheduling delay? Or are you just happy that once Peggy & Co. come back, they’ll do so without any breaks?

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

Wait Agent Carter is on Tuesdays also????
And Brooklyn 99 is moving to Tuesday???
Teen Wolf is moving to Tuesdays.
New Show Shadowhunters is on Tuesdays.
And we still have Flash, Marvel’s Agents of Shield, iZombie and Chicago Fire.
Holy cow networks spread the wealth. Why is Tuesday the night when everything is on???
Thursday is actually drying up for me when they move Vampire Diaries and when HTGAWM ends this season. Throw some stuff on Thursdays!!!
Thank goodness i have a PVR and Time Shifting on cable. But it is still too much.

    Tyypical.

Any word on whether that will also push back the return of AoS?

Seems to me that all the shows premiering on Jan.5 will be pushed to the 19th. Why air a new episode then have to wait 2 weeks. (All networks in unison…Thanks Obama!)

This means they have to double up episodes in order to not move SHIELD’s return date.
