Empire Ratings Season 2

Ratings: Empire Rises, Laura Draws Largest Audience Since February

Fox’s Empire this Wednesday rose two tenths in the demo — to a 4.4 rating (per finals) — while dropping a few eyeballs, drawing its smallest audience (11.3 million) since Season 1, Episode 3.

Opening Fox’s night, Rosewood (4.7 mil/1.5) ticked up one tenth in the demo.

Elsewhere in the ratings….

CBS | Survivor (9.1 mil/2.1) and Code Black (6.6 mil/1.2) were steady. Criminal Minds (8.1 mil/1.5) dipped a tenth in the demo to a series low.

NBC | Mysteries of Laura (7.4 mil/1.1) dipped a tenth in the demo yet drew its largest audience since Feb. 25 (when Eric McCormack guested). SVU (6.3 mil/1.4) dropped sharply from last week’s Voice-boosting outing, going from a season high to a season low in the demo. Chicago P.D. (6.5 mil/1.4) slipped two tenths to tie its season low.

THE CW | Arrow (2.7 mil/1.1) rose 12 percent and two tenths, matching its season high in the demo, while Supernatural (1.7 mil/0.7) was steady.

ABC | The Middle (7.9 mil/2.1), Goldbergs (7.1 mil/2.2), Modern Family (8.4 mil/2.8) and black-ish (6.1 mil/1.9) each ticked up a tenth. Nashville (4.4 mil/1.0) was steady, holding onto its series low.

I wonder if Nashville would be more popular if they lightened up a little. I really enjoy the show but this year somewhat painful. Do people really like all the angst?

Boy you’re not kidding. These people are really going through it this season. Avery just about killed me last night singing Will’s song, LOL!! I am getting a little tired of the bratty teenagers. The way Maddie disrespects her mother is beyond irritating.

      • Ann says:

Ugh…Maddie! I realize that this is really how most teens act (disrespectful to their parents), but I don’t want to live through this during my daytime with real kids, then have to watch it on television! They should have kept Maddie and her sister the sweet country dueting sisters that we came to love. Now both of them are such tools, they should be sent to boarding school until they grow up! I really hope they change tunes now that they have their record deal…but the way Maddie was acting, I highly doubt it….but if there are any of that show’s writers reading this…it’s not too late to make them sweet kids again!

It got interesting for a minute and now it’s delved back into boredom. And the teen’s stories don’t help.

I’m glad that Empire’s ratings went up, since last night’s episode may have been the best of the season.

I passed on Empire last night and just read the episode recaps. Last season was must watch TV, this season is just not. This season of Survivor is probably one of the best I’ve seen. I just hope that the “Coven” gets busted up soon, LOL!!

i watched first episode have not tuned in,two guys making out wasnt my cup of tea, what u do in private is fine i will not watch something i find repulsive.

  5. Brad says:

Empire and SVU were both pretty lame last night. I kept thinking SVU was a repeat and Empire has completely gone over the edge.

    Modern Family was the highlight

Black-ish was hilarious last night. One of the best episodes ever, although they’ve all been on point this season.

Empire is just “meh” for me this season (though last night’s episode was a bit better). It just doesn’t seem like it has any bite any more since a) Lucius isn’t dying and b) the brothers aren’t vying for the empire.
I think that Arrow rose partly because last week the CW was completely blacked out for the episode in my area (it wasn’t a Dish or satellite problem) so there was no show at all to watch.

  8. I feel like Empire was definitely better last season but I am still enjoy it. The show that has fallen a lot to me is Arrow. I know some people complained about last season but I enjoyed season 3 but season 4 is painful. Oliver isn’t the same anymore. He isn’t as tough as he used to be. Maybe it’s his relationship with Felicity but the show is definitely lacking. I enjoyed Supernatural. It’s the most reliable even after 10 seasons.

Loving me that NASHVILLE (tho I allow it is dark in tone this season). Show keeps chugging along even tho we can never seem to get that consistent Rayna-Juliette frenemies relationship that sold me on the series at its genesis. This is such a talented cast of actors/performers. Applause all around!

Go Empire and Rosewood is still hanging in there!

I know it’s annoying to be one of those people, but it kind of drives me nuts that you always write just “Goldbergs” instead of “The Goldbergs.” It’s not like you ever write “Middle” instead of “The Middle.”
