HBO's The Deuce: Amber Skye Noyes Joins Porn Pilot Opposite James Franco

Beauty and the Beast alum Amber Skye Noyes has boarded the cast of The Deuce, HBO’s pilot about the rise of New York’s sex industry.

Described as a “narrative set in the Times Square demimonde of the 1970s and 1980s,” The Deuce follows the story of the legalization and subsequent rise of the porn industry in New York, exploring the rough-and-tumble world that existed in midtown Manhattan “until the rise of HIV, the violence of the cocaine epidemic and the renewed real estate market all ended the bawdy turbulence.”

In the project, James Franco (127 Hours) stars as twins Frankie and Vincent. Noyes will guest-star (with the potential to recur if the pilot goes to series), as Ellen, a tough, smart and attractive employee at a Times Square bar run by Vincent (with whom she may have a little somethin’-somethin’ going on the side).

The Deuce comes from Wire creator David Simon, while Breaking Bad‘s Michelle MacLaren will direct. The cast also included The Honourable Woman‘s Maggie Gyllenhaal (playing a prostitute named “Candy”), Revenge‘s Margarita Levieva (as a college student involved also involved with Vincent), Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (The Walking Dead), Dominique Fishback (Show Me a Hero), Daniel Sauli (Show Me A Hero) and Sepideh Moafi (Black Box).

Noyes’ previous TV credits also include The Blacklist and One Life to Live.
