Donald Trump SNL Ratings

Ratings: Donald Trump-Hosted SNL Eyes Best Numbers Since Jan. 2012

Yes, Donald Trump, the ratings for your Saturday Night Live hosting gig were huuuuuuge.

This weekend’s edition of the long-running NBC sketch comedy averaged a 6.6 rating and 16 share in metered-market households, marking SNL‘s best overnight numbers since Jan. 7, 2012 (when Charles Barkley hosted with musical guest Kelly Clarkson).

TVLine readers gave the largely unfunny 90 minutes an average grade of “C-.”

In the coveted 18-49 demo, Trump’s controversial SNL outing drew a 2.7 metered-market rating/13 share, the show’s best tallies since Feb. 1, 2014 (Melissa McCarthy/Imagine Dragons).

Versus SNL‘s year-ago November average, this weekend’s episode was up 53 percent.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

    Dumbing down of America continues

  2. Roberto gomez says:

Why does your article included your biased opinion that it was not worth it? Or that it was not good? The show was great with the exception of the laser instrument. This is no longer journalism when you include your biased opinion as if you were a 3rd grader

  3. Jason. P says:

so much for that boycott lol

  4. luke says:

What are the ratings for the last The Big Bang Theory? The episode lasted only 18 minutes and 45 seconds which might be the shortest episode yet… CBS you suck… ohh and sooner we forget this Trump hosted SNL ep the better….

  5. MMD says:

While Trump will paint this as great, huge and all the other egotistical objectives he pompously uses to describe himself, I think it more likely reflects the way people can’t help but look at a car wreck as they drive by.

If the numbers had been lousy then he would have called the writers and Lorne Michaels losers, morons, low energy, the show and NBC have been failing for a long time, etc.

    Sad but true.

  6. Tina Fey says:

So much for the “losers” who posted all over the place that they weren’t going to watch it. As many people replied to them, it didn’t matter and no one cared. The ratings spoke for themselves, whether you love him, hate him, or are indifferent. I am an avid SNL viewer, and with the exception of a few of the later sketches (which typically seems to be case for most episodes anyway), I found the show overall to be quite funny.

  7. Will says:

Told ‘ya…only reason to watch because of Trump. I found it funny people PROBABLY rated it lower than usual because of their political bias. But then again – SNL is no longer funny. SNL just needs to be cancelled already.

  8. Explain to me why someone is racist for only wanting people to be here legally, This Country has gotten so far off track it isn’t even funny!

Obama won’t tell us how much the American taxpayer supports illegal aliens , but some of the state leaders have! South Dakota $87 million in handouts , North Carolina $1.6 billion , Virginia 878 million.

We can no longer afford to “split the pot” with everyone who wants a piece. America is struggling enough as it is. Most of us are making below living wage and just had our health insurance forcefully taken away. I make 60k per year and my healthcare is up to $400 per month; compare this to my $25/month car insurance (from Insurance Panda) or my $13/month renters insurance from Gotham. Both private enterprise (take note, Obama).

Here in Arizona it is easy to see… The illegal families drive up to supermarkets in 2 year old cars or newer , 3 or 4 kids and pay with EBT . The American families pull up in ten year old cars with 2 kids and pay for their food with cash . These illegals are scamming America and the fool of a President doesn’t no why . his effed up legacy , the browning of America

      the browning of America
Aaaaaaaaaaand this sort of comment renders any of your other complaints (which may or may not be accurate) completely null and void. Charming.

      • Simon Jester says:

Exactly. If your opening gambit is “here’s why this isn’t racist,” maybe don’t end with a racist remark!

    • KatsMom says:

Do you people just cut and paste this same comment everywhere there’s talk about Trump. I’ve seen it at 5 different articles now. Same stats. Same info. Comparing auto insurance and health insurance, which might as well be apples and oranges. Blaming illegal immigrants for things without considering the amount the money they actually pay in via sales tax, etc. which actually significantly exceeds the drain that you claim. On and on the list of inaccuracies go, but I’m sure to find them everywhere I find Trump in a headline. Good luck with your ongoing pandering to the low information voter who just wants to blame their hardships on anything other than the corporations and their owners, like Trump, which treat their employees like chattel rather than people.

    • Bigdede says:

America was brown BEFORE. The Native Americans……..

    • Gern Blanston says:

      “the browning of America”

Its racist because you’re framing it about race. If the criticism was kept to the arena of law breaking it wouldn’t be racist. Being upset about people coming here illegally because, in your words, they are brown is racist.

  9. rebecca says:

I’m hoping most people watched to laugh at Trump and not with him.

  10. dj says:

Yet the show was just as bad as it’s been for years…time to lay SNL to rest

  11. dj says:

Why aren’t comments on here listed by newest first?

  12. Kim R says:

I do have a question. Didn’t NBC sever their ties with Trump after his “all Mexicans are…” comments at the beginning of his campaign? I seem to remember them issuing a statement along those lines. Odd that they would have him host SNL after that.

    • They ended their business ties, but this hosting gig seemed like a one off symbiotic parasite relationship. For the most part, they muzzled Trump, preventing him from saying anything controversial while also mocking previous controversial things he has said, while a ratings bump during sweeps gets them some more ad revenue.

    • Simon Jester says:

That was NBC News. NBC News has as much to do with SNL as Fox News does with The Simpsons.

      • Kim R says:

It was actually NBC Universal. They fired him from The Apprentice and cut all ties with him. You can read the statement online.

  13. Jenny says:

Of course all this did was enlarge and ego that was already to big. Ratings were high because Trunp is a train wreck you can’t turn away from. Polls and ratings say one thing, but let’s see what happens when an actual vote takes place.

    • KC says:

I think we’ll all be laughing at you Jenny. Trump will rule the world!

    • liame says:

Jenny you’re right. Watching Trump on SNL has nothing to do with supporting him, it’s all about how silly they can make him look and I say, they did a damn good job. He was off his mark a few times and his daughter’s cameo was like crickets, ouch!

  14. Rick Johnson says:

I thought the Trump bits were very funny!

The Bad Girls was very entertaining, humorous and a good spoof of the Bang Bang video!

SNL news, hilarious! I’m going to start watching SNL again!!

  15. KC says:

I knew everyone would watch! Great numbers for SNL. Go Trump!

  16. suzyku says:

What a shame that they did so well in the ratings! Why people felt the need to watch that complete and utter jerk is beyond me and I’m disappointed that people were so stupid as to give them these good ratings! I was hoping it would tank big time!

  17. DavidSask says:

    Bring back MAD TV asap!

  18. Mr. Tran K says:

Don’t know if Donald Trump’s return on SNL was worst than what Chris Rock did last season.

  19. cuius says:

Guess it made sense to somebody – get a host whose going to get the ratings, and give very little effort in the script department.

  20. Jerri says:

    Well paid, Trump. Well paid.

  21. bill zaremba says:

Donald Trump proves once again what an asinine bloated jerk he is. Lorne Michaels and NBC prove also why they are the most classless network on the air. NBC with it’s fawning A**kissing
today show toadies Matt Lauer, Kathy Gifford et al make it the phoniest bunch of losers.
Hey!, Today Show no one cares about the effing English royal family. Leave that to Juliana Rancid and ET.
