Angie Tribeca Renewed TBS

Rashida Jones' Angie Tribeca Renewed for Season 2, TBS Sets 25-Hour Binge

Rashida Jones’ new police comedy has already copped a second season, well ahead of its January 2016 debut.

TBS announced on Thursday that Angie Tribeca has been renewed for a 10-episode Season 2 — or as its press release joked, the pick-up is for “season 2-11, each of which consists of one episode.”

The new comedy’s 10-episode freshman order will unspool all at once, opening a commercial-free, 25-hour marathon, on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 9/8c.

Season 2 will then roll out all old-school style — weekly! — starting Monday, Jan. 25 at 8:30 pm.

Counting Steve and Nancy Carell among its executive producers, Angie Tribeca stars Parks and Recreation alum Jones as the titular detective, a lone wolf who is none too happy when partnered with J Geils, played by Hayes MacArthur (Go On).

The cast also includes Jere Burns (Justified) as the squad’s apoplectic captain; Deon Cole (Conan) as detective Danny Tanner; and Andrée Vermeulen (Upright Citizen’s Brigade) as Dr. Monica Scholls, the quirky medical examiner.

  1. Steven says:

That’s… odd. I saw the pilot at NYCC and it was pretty funny,

  2. Stacy says:

I watched a previous trailer for this and looked decent, but this trailer was pretty terrible. It basically only shows us that the show isn’t a serious cop show…. but never actually gives us a taste of what it will be.

  3. Guy says:

So they’re airing all of season 1 in one day? And then premiering season 2 one week later? Kind of frustrating for anyone who doesn’t like binge-watching. And very odd that they would just burn through two seasons of a new show in a couple months.

  4. Sarahii says:

    Literally, the stupidest idea ever.

  5. Elf says:

So I can watch a season premiere and season final simultaneously? Cool…

  6. Yorgo says:

Love the opinions of all the “experts”.

  7. Jen says:

Very funny show! love Rashida Jones. Parks and Rec is my very favorite show! And Steve and Nancy Carell are producers.

  8. McVay says:

Soooo funny! !! I love this kind of show..
    Reminds me of “Airplane ”
The sort of show you have to watch over again to catch all the hidden humor
    Favorite actor..the shepherd. …he’s so cool….

  9. Norman says:

I only caught the last episode of the marathon premiere and knew I was a fan, and will be for the duration of its life. Luckily I bought the season on Amazon and are watching, and re-watching each as they come out. The casting is perfect for everyone right down to the dog, but Rashida nails the total seriousness only to compound it’s hilarity with everyone else. SO glad there’lol be a season 2 and kudos to TBS for airing!
