Once Upon a Time Sneak Peek: Will 'Rumbelle' Reunion Be Short-Lived?

This Sunday on Once Upon a Time (ABC, 8/7c), brave Belle rides to husband Rumplestiltskin’s rescue — for better, or for worse.

As seen in the sneak peek above, Belle (played by Emilie de Ravin) has somehow spirited Rumple (Robert Carlyle) away from spelled Merida’s (Amy Manson) clutches, but their reunion may be short-lived once the scarlet archer’s arrows come a-thwipping. What’s more, the saucy Scot’s target is not who you think.

“Emma commands Merida to kill Belle in hopes of forcing Mr. Gold’s heroic transformation,” reads the official synopsis. As such, “Gold must find the courage to fight for Belle’s life or risk losing her forever.”

Elsewhere in the episode “The Bear and the Bow,” Regina and the Charmings grow suspicious of Arthur in Storybrooke, while in Camelot a chance encounter with Merlin, David, Hook and Belle gives Merida new hope in her quest to save her brothers from the usurping clans of DunBroch.

    Let’s hope so!!!

I just hope the episode isn’t centered around charmings and regina.

I dont like this pairing at all. Dislike Rumple

I hope he’s gonna treat Belle better.
I always liked best the man he was before che dagger. He was a good father and a decent man.
On the other hand I want Belle to stand up and be the same woman who banished the Dark One from SB.

I would love to feed Hook to the bear. And Rumbelle is the BEST Ship on the show and beats all of the others – hands down – in every competition. Live with it, Hookers

I feel exactly 100% opposite of you. I wish Rumple was gone forever (never liked him and lost all sympathy after how he treated Belle last season) & the whole show revolved around Captain Swan. To each his own.

    • I’m not really watching OUAT for the couples, I like the storylines. That being said, I think Rumple and Bell is probably one of the worst and it makes very little sense. We are regularly told over and over again that Belle is smart, well-read, and strong … and she continues to be involved with someone who really has just treated her absolutely horribly. It makes zero sense. It also undermines all that we’re told about Belle being a strong woman — I just think she looks ridiculous compared to the likes of Regina or Emma.

I hope Belle starts treating Rumple better from now on. She is able find reasons to forgive both Hook and Regina who have harmed her multiple times, but she held a grudge against her husband, Rumple, who saved her life multiple times, and who has been grievously wronged by many people, including his controlling wife number 2, Belle… The NewBelle that appeared during their 3×20 “Kansas” reunion, thinking more of his captor’s well-being than of him, and who spent season 4 ignoring his needs after trauma, trying to control him to fix her mistakes, banishing him — jeopardizing his safety, cheating on him, yelling at him until he collapsed into a coma, and then in season 5 thus far, abandoning her comatose husband for 6 weeks, only to return and allow Regina, who ripped out Belle’s heart, to yell at Rumple while Belle treats Regina like a friend, then goes out drinking with Hook, who tried to KILL her FOUR times, and bad mouths Rumple to him, is NOT the Belle that fans have loved for years. Hopefully, her Storybrook brush with the red-haired bimbo bully Merida will get Belle’s priorities straight… Rumple should be Belle’s number 1 priority after all he’s sacrificed for her, and after all the rotten things she’s done to him in the last year. At least in the above clip, Belle had enough brains to grab Rumple’s cane… Hopefully, that is a good sign that smart, loving Belle might come back. …we’ll see.

I have ZERO sympathy for Merida. I think this shows her true colors. Merida is using Emma having her heart as a blanket excuse to go ‘all in’ on being a hateful. Other’s who have been controlled in the past, showed emotional conflict and genuine remorse for what they were doing, even apologizing to people as they were controlled. Merida says in the clip that she’s tried to fight Emma’s command, but there’s no evidence of such trying… Being a moron last week and trying to attack Emma straight on does not count. She has not tried to fight the compulsion, instead embraced it fully — gleefully bullying, abusing and humiliating, and then like the new whiny villains on OUAT (especially Zelena) tried to blame someone else — in this case, blaming Rumple for going to the one place that might have something to help him and Belle, with Merida saying he was daft. After her moronic move of trying to attack Emma straight on, having no element of surprise, Merida loses the right to call anybody daft, as she is from here on the poster girl for stupid. Being abusive and bullying is not a valid teaching technique, it is dangerous and stupid, and Rumple has done more brave things in this life, both pre-cursed and cursed, than this chick with the intellect of a freeze-dried turnip.

Oh, and on another note, notice that typical OUAT sneak peeks are 1.5 to 2.5 minutes in length, but this one with RumBelle is only 46 seconds. Yet, the first sneak peek with a ton of Hook, and Belle only having 5 words of dialog where the writers mock the fact that Belle is always ignored, was 2 minutes and 22 seconds… typical!

I’m commenting here (for the first time) just so I can give you a virtual standing ovation. So many love Hook and ignore the fact that he is an alcoholic pirate who destroyed Rumple’s family, challenged a clearly disabled man to a fight, repeatedly attempted to kill a woman (Belle) who had done absolutely nothing to warrant his attack, and he is generally a creep. Belle’s willingness to forgive so many attempts to kill her and ingratiate herself with the so-called and self-proclaimed “heroes” is a sign of her great weakness, not strength.

I so agree with you! I have this horrible feeling that they are going to ruin Rumbelle again. I saw a pic of Killian with Excalibur fighting Rumple. I think theyve ruined Bobbys character and focused on Hookto appeal to younger viewers. He is definitely “hot”and thats why a lot of ladies like him. Emma is the heroine so Belle is secondary. This show frustrates me cuz Emilie and Bobby have such great chemistry and Bobby is definitely a better actor than anyone on the show. Rumbelle shippers are destined to be broken hearted :(
