Blindspot Full Season Order

Blindspot Snags Full-Season Order

Jane Doe’s past might be a little fuzzy, but her future is very clear: NBC has picked up the back nine episodes of Blindspot, making it the first 2015-16 freshman series to land a full-season order.

The pickup comes two weeks after the Peacock Net ordered nine additional Blindspot scripts, and three weeks after the show’s highly rated debut.

The drama — which stars Jaimie Alexander as an amnesiac whose mysterious tattoos help the FBI track down criminals — pulled in 10.6 million total viewers and a 3.1 rating in the demo with its series premiere, giving NBC its best rating in the time slot since The Blacklist‘s year-ago opener.

In the weeks since, Blindspot has averaged 9.6 million total viewers and a 2.7 demo rating in live-plus-same-day results.

Blindspot airs Mondays at 10/9c on NBC. Hit the comments with your thoughts on the full-season pick-up.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

Best news of the day..and well deserved. Can’t wait to find out more about Jane’s past!

  2. Mr. Tran K says:

YES! This makes me very happy. What other new shows will get a full season order soon?

  3. Lysh says:

Great! I’m really digging this show. It would be even better if they changed the timeslot (I watch Castle) but still awesome news nonetheless.

    • J. Norman says:

If they change the timeslot it will be moved away from the Voice.
Be careful what you wish for. For example, Blacklist is struggling without its big lead in.

  4. Happy to hear the news about Blindspot. It’s our favorite new show in this household. Actors great, and the plot/subplots are intriguing.

  5. BrightLight says:

Fantastic! A show that I actually like gets a full season pickup and it’s on NBC. That’s like a miracle! ;)

  6. Mary says:

Love this show. As so many of my favorite shows age and the UST fizzles (Bones Castle exc) this has been awesome. Their chemistry is electric…

  7. Joey Padron says:

Good news! Liking the show so far.

  8. Of the three copy cats it the best , but seeing not last longer than 3 season

  9. Lisa says:

YES!!!! I love this show. It’s awesome.

  10. Carlos Lee says:

I have enjoyed the show as well. The lovely SIf and Damian Scott are characters I can root for.

  11. Pat says:

Fantastic news. This is definitely a winner for a new show.

  12. Amanda says:

Great! So far this show is turning out to be a winner. The Blacklist is also holding my attention as it did the first season.

  13. Alex Mindev says:

So far I’m not feeling the show 100%…I’m going to give it a few more episodes to decide for myself but I get the sense that once the mystery of Jane Doe is “solved” there is little to look forward to after that.

  14. Jooshua says:

“Jane Doe’s past might be a little fuzzy, but her future is very clear” — Love this.

  15. Sandi says:

Great News! Blindspot & Blacklist are my favorite shows

  16. Billie says:

Glad to hear this. I love the show. I watch NCIS LA, then I watch Blindspot and Castle on their apps. CBS charges to watch their shows after a free trial.

  17. NBC finally got something right.

  18. CaptainRailroad says:

Glad one of the “boys” from Strikeback is making it good. Stikeback’s final is tonight. A great show, and I hope Blindspot remains as interesting as Strikeback has over four seasons.

  19. Lady K says:

Excellent news! On the night of the last new Strike Back (in the U.S.) we get the news we will still get to see Sullivan Stapleton on our TV weekly! Woohoo! Now NBC, give The Player a full season order, and then we will get to keep Philip Winchester around for weekly viewing as well!

  20. Jimmy says:

I’ll admit it, the show has me hooked. Glad to hear I don’t have to worry about it being cancelled.

  21. Tony says:

Great Show….i have a funny feeling that the boys from Person Of Interest are gonna end up on this show somehow…they seem so similar…FBI, CIA, Black OPS..same network…hmmm

  22. Ladymoonkac says:

    Awesome! Love this show!

  23. suzyku says:

So happy to hear this! Love Sullivan Stapleton and Blindspot!

  24. retsim says:

As long as it keeps the same momentum it should do well. As long as the script writers do not do the normal and write some rubbish filler episodes .

  25. Cobra says:

I really tried to like this show, but I just didn’t. I can’t force myself to like Weller, and the show reminds me way too much of “The Bourne Identity” with the added twist of the tattoos.
    .

    • John NYC says:

Weller is a bit of a problem for me as well. I’m still enjoying the show but we’all see. I finally gave up on Scorpion because I found the lead too obnoxious so it’s happened before.

  26. JLove says:

New and refreshing I am very happy

  27. valerie tower says:

Yes! Excellent show. I’m so hooked

  28. kirads09 says:

Yay! Very intriguing so far. Enjoying it.

  29. Keith says:

Great news! But, will someone PLEASE give her a brush and a change of clothes!

  30. Jeannette says:

    Bravo! NBC

  31. Temperance says:

Three cheers. But as much as I love Stapleton fuzzy, scruff and nearly naked, they need to make him shave his face regularly to be a convincing FBI agent.

  32. Andy L says:

Very interesting what clues will be revealed next. Always love a good mystery.

  33. SK says:

Yes! I’m happy about this. My husband and I really enjoy this show.

  34. Nancy says:

I think Blindspot is one of the best new shows of the season. Limitless ranks # 2 in my book. I’m not sure how I feel about Quantico.

  35. SueK says:

Very glad to hear this! Fun show to watch!

  36. Laura says:

    Love the new show, “Blindspot”!!
Great, believable acting, suspense, intrigue, great cast!!
    NBC got it RIGHT!!!

  37. Rick Davis says:

I recorded Blindspot on my tivo box, now it says I have to buy from amazon just to watch the show. What the heck is going on with this?

  38. Brenda says:

What happened last night???? I recorded the Blindspot and when I went to watch it the law and order came on my recording. What happened????
