TVLine Items: Madam Secretary Gets a Bro, DWTS Pro Injured and More

Madam Secretary will have some family business to attend to when the CBS drama returns.

TV vet Eric Stoltz (Chicago Hope, Caprica) — who also co-executive-produces the political drama — will appear in Season 2 as Peter, the brother of Téa Leoni’s Elizabeth McCord.

According to EW.com, Peter is an adventurer and risk-taker who will try to settle an old conflict with Elizabeth when he comes to town.

Madam Secretary returns Sunday, Oct. 4, at 8/7c on CBS; Stoltz’s first episode will air sometime in November.

* Max Beesley (Suits) will appear in one episode of Homeland‘s upcoming fifth season. Per TheWrap, he will play Mike Brown, an ex-Royal Marine turned private military contractor who is not entirely comfortable working under Carrie.

* Julie Claire (Devious Maids, Web Therapy) will guest-star on Season 5 of Scandal, though details of her role are being kept quiet, according to TheWrap.

* Season 3 of Being Mary Jane will premiere Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 9/8c on BET.

    Don’t watch a lot of tv shows on a consistent basis, but have really come to enjoy this show–maybe because I’ve always liked Tea Leoni’s work. I like the way the writers have incorporated the very stressful job with real family life-neither getting shorted. Look forward to the new season.
