Esai Morales

Esai Morales Cops Blue Bloods Role

Onetime NYPD Blue lawman Esai Morales will again wield a shield on Blue Bloods.

TVLine has learned that the actor — who most recently was seen as The Brink‘s POTUS and joins From Dusk Till Dawn tonight as a crime lord — will guest-star in a late fall episode of the CBS procedural as Delgado, a charismatic NYPD sergeant who has a plan to increase the accuracy of police statistics by seeking the opinions of city youth, and thus earns a promotion from commish Frank Reagan.

The fly in the ointment? Seems that Delgado may be hiding some sordid behavior that could cause his image to lose some luster.

I shall always favorably remember Morales from his turn as Bad Boys‘ Paco, while his myriad TV credits include Criminal Minds, Magic City, 24, Vanished and Caprica.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. Patty says:

Is he no longer on Criminal Minds? Or is it just as recurring status?

  2. Mr. Tran K says:

Can’t imagine seeing Esai Morales back in another cop drama after an amazing run on NYPD Blue.

  3. Richard Carmona says:

Blue Bloods our favorite show and we still continue it’s reruns. I hope he has a permanent role, our favorite Latin actor

  4. Laura C says:

Can’t wait for NEW season of Blue Bloods, I watch all the marathons to get my fix. I am not familiar with this actor, but he IS good looking. I hope he’s not bad new for the Reagans though.

  5. Gene says:

You didn’t even mention NYPD Blue on his television credits……

  6. Gene says:

I think he was on NYPD Blue longer than the guest stint on Criminal Minds as a regular….was his work not good enough to be warranted a mention….?

  7. Incredible Actor. Bue Bloods incredible show. What a great combination

  8. marge says:

  9. BonnieW says:

I remember him best from Jericho.

  10. Bertha says:

I love Tom Selleck. I have all of his Magum PI movies along with his Jesse Stone series and all his western movies. Now if the producers to Blue Blues could get Mr. Elliot to come on with Tom this show would be the biggest thing on TV. Tom Selleck is a great actor and he along with Blue Bloods should get an award, but they never come up with this show. What a shame. He is a very down to earth guy and I remember when he kept his cool on the Rosie show about gun control. He is classic.

  11. Robert Collier says:

It was the movie “LaBamba” that I first remember Esai. He played Bob, Richie Valens older brother. Great movie.

  12. Sherri Rosen says:

I think he’ll be a great addition to an already amazing cast of actors! I can’t wait!

  15. TinLV says:

He was also on NYPD Blue. I have been a fan of his since La Bamba.. and he just keeps getting better looking with age.

  16. Ralph says:

He is an amazing actor with many talents. So glad he is back on primetime and in my favorite drama show!!

  17. mattamp says:

Calling Blue Bloods a cop drama isn’t quite accurate. It’s a show about Irish Catholic family values using law enforcement as a framework.
    Great show

  18. Cee says:

I always like him as an actor and should do more work; I sure wish Danny Pino would get a new cop show also, he is so good and miss him.

    • Laura C says:

I agree Cee, would love to see Danny P in another show. I loved him in Cold Case, followed him to SVU. I am not familiar with Morales, good looking guy though.

  19. Turtle says:

Can’t forget him in, “LABAMBA”… as a Ritchie Valens’ brother
