Nick Wechsler Joins NBC's The Player

Another Revenge alum is plotting a course for NBC.

Nick Wechsler — formerly known as Jack Porter, sensitive bartender, single father and dog griever — will appear on NBC’s The Player (Sept. 24, 10/9c), a tense new drama about a wealthy network of individuals who gamble on whether a former military operative can stop unimaginable crimes.

Per our sister site Deadline, Wechsler will play Nick, the good, “moral” boyfriend of Charity Wakefield’s character Cassidy.

Last week, TVLine reported that Wechsler’s Revenge co-star Gabriel Mann will also appear on NBC this fall, playing a potentially corrupt computer programmer on The Mysteries of Laura.

Come to think of it, it almost sounds like Wechsler and Mann are merely playing versions of their Revenge characters on two new shows, and we want to know how that makes you feel. Drop a comment with your thoughts below.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

    So thrilled. Nicest guy ever.

  2. Mr. Tran K says:

The Player is one of the new shows I’m really looking forward to and should get a big boost for a Blacklist lead-in. Wonder if Nick Wechsler’s new role is going to kick some butt like Philip Winchester’s Alex Kane.

    Team Knight Rider Forever

  4. TinLV says:

I already miss Revenge.. but seeing Nick’s pretty face on something is better than nothing. Gabriel Mann can do so much better than Mysteries of Laura.. seriously ? That show is terrible.

  5. I am thrilled Nick is in a new show. I loved him in Revenge and hated to see that show go off the air. I will be watching!!!

  6. Steven says:

I’ve been a fan of his since Roswell and wish him nothing but the best, but I have zero interest in watching this show.

Then don’t watch The Player before the September 24th premiere. The series is like a throwback to ’80s action series like Miami Vice, Knight Rider and The A-Team.

  7. Megan says:

Gabriel is seriously talented; hoping a show picks him up in a regular capacity soon. I’d like to see Nick in a comedy; when he got to do deadpan humor stuff in Revenge, he was really funny…

  8. Liz says:

He’ll always be “Kyle” from Roswell to me…

  9. LT says:

    Good grief he’s beautiful…

  10. Kate says:

Both already typecast….good for them to earn money….but still -.- YAWN.

  11. pati says:

I really hope the show is successful, I need Phillip Winchester on my tv.

  12. Deb says:

Jack from revenge did not play a seamless acting role. Don’t get the appeal

  13. tsevca says:

I used to watch Roswell, so I never believed hm the Revenge role. I probably won´t believe him this one either.

  14. Elaine says:

Would love to see much more of Nick, his own show perhaps!
