Karina Smirnoff DWTS

TVLine Items: DWTS Pro Returns, Selena Gomez Joins The Voice and More

Watch out, Val Chmerkovskiy: Karina Smirnoff has her eye on the Mirrorball Trophy once again.

The Dancing With the Stars pro — who sat out Season 20 to focus on other projects — will be back for this fall’s 21st season, EW.com reports.

“I was a little nervous about not dancing on the show at all last season,” Smirnoff told the site, adding, “I’ve had obvious moments when I’ve missed it.”

Smirnoff took home the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 13 with partner J.R. Martinez, and most recently danced with UFC champion Randy Couture in Season 19.

Dancing With the Stars returns Monday, Sept. 14, at 8/7c on ABC.

Ready for more of today’s newsy nuggets? Well…

  1. Melissa says:

Gwen isn’t exactly known for her vocal prowess… shouldn’t she have found a co-advisor who can actually sing?

  2. HAP says:

It would seem unprecedented for a network to give a 2 season renewal order for a show that is yet to premiere. And to even increase the number of episodes in season 2 and 3.

If you’re ready for The Voice, come and get it. Making fun of a Selena Gomez track. LOL :-)

  4. Sheila says:

I don’t watch The Voice and may be mistaken, but isn’t the point to get a singer into the business? Selena Gomez is known for… Disney Channel stuff and being Justin Bieber’s ex, right? What would she coach hopefuls in? Posing for pictures?
