Sneaky Pete Trailer

TVLine Items: Sneaky Pete Trailer, Jimmy Kimmel in NYC and More

Amazon has unveiled a sneak peek — or should we say Sneaky peek? — of its newest potential series.

The trailer for Sneaky Pete, a drama pilot that was initially passed on by CBS, was made available Tuesday, ahead of the episode’s Amazon launch.

Executive-produced by David Shore (House), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Seth Gordon (The Goldbergs), the drama stars Giovanni Ribisi as a con man who, upon getting out of jail, assumes the identity of his former cellmate.

Beginning Friday, Aug. 7, the Sneaky Pete pilot will be available on Amazon for free for 30 days, during which time viewers can rate and comment on its potential to become a full series. Press PLAY on the video below for a first look.

Ready for more of today’s newsy nuggets? Well…

* Jimmy Kimmel Live! will air five shows from New York City’s Brooklyn Academy of Music during the week of Oct. 19 — when Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert will both be on hiatus, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

* James Cromwell (Halt and Catch Fire) is set to co-star in The Young Pope, HBO’s eight-episode series telling the fictional story of Pope Pius XIII (played by Jude Law). Per Deadline, Cromwell will play Cardinal Michael Spencer, mentor to Pius.

* Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) will host It’s Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown, a holiday retrospective celebrating 50 years of the animated classic, on Monday, Nov. 30, at 9/8c on ABC.

* ABC Family on Tuesday announced the full cast for Stay, its drama pilot about a recently widowed police detective and his two daughters, who are stranded at a foreboding hotel and must unravel the building’s mysteries to escape. Skeet Ulrich (Jericho) will star as Detective Shane Brenner, with Elizabeth Cappuccino (Deception), Jordan Fisher (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), Alicia Coppola (NCIS), Sosie Bacon (Scream), Brianna Brown (General Hospital), Leonard Howze (Memphis Beat) and Mia Vallet (Believe) rounding out the cast.

Okay, have to admit the cast makes me somewhat interested for Stay. While usually I’m a sucker for these high concept mystery shows, I’ve been burned too often lately. But I will at least check this one out.

  2. Mr. Tran K says:

Great to see a mini-Jericho reunion in Skeet Ulrich and Alicia Coppola (wolf whistle) now that these two are being cast in a new series on ABC Family. Also, can’t wait to watch Kimmel in NYC during the week of October 19th and they made a bold move putting Fallon & Colbert for a week long full of repeats.
