Friday Night Lights' Kyle Chandler Resurrects Coach Taylor on the Big Screen — Watch LOL Video

This may be the closest thing we’ll get to a Friday Night Lights movie — and we’ll take it.

Kyle Chandler has brought back Coach Taylor for Alamo Drafthouse’s new no-talking-during-the-movie PSA that includes the phrase, “Clear eyes, full hearts… turn your g-ddamn cell phones off!”

In the “inspirational message” — the type of which airs before feature films at the Austin, Texas-based chain’s movie theaters — Coach delivers one of his signature team pep talks only to be interrupted by members of the audience chatting and mobile phones ringing.

The spot ends with a warning for those who dare to ruin one of Coach Taylor’s speeches. (Ironically, it was Chandler’s reluctance to reprise his role as Coach Taylor that killed the FNL movie.)

Fans of the high school football drama will appreciate other little touches, like the spot on the wall the players tap as they leave the locker room and the soundtrack, written and performed by FNL house band Explosions in the Sky.

The Alamo Drafthouse actually does kick people who use their phone during the movie out of the theater, If you want a laugh, find the trailer they did with the voice mail message someone they kicked out left them.

FNL is and always will be a classic. Scripted show that seems like reality. I switched to Direct TV so I could watch the show when it was canceled by NBC. It got better. Ty Mr. berg.
