HBO's Westworld Adds Eion Bailey and 3 Others as Original Cast Member Exits

Westworld Eion Bailey

You’re not in Storybrooke anymore, Eion Bailey.

The Once Upon a Time alum has joined HBO’s upcoming sci-fi drama series Westworld — inspired by Michael Crichton’s 1973 movie of the same name — about a Western-themed futuristic theme park where robots go nuts and attack the guests.

Per, Bailey will play louche bachelor and veteran Westworld visitor, Logan. His hedonistic romp through the park is equally motivated by self-indulgence and a desire to help his friend, William (played by House of Cards‘ Jimmi Simpson), who is a reluctant first-time guest.

Additionally, Clifton Collins Jr. (Red Widow) has been cast as Lawrence, a charming but lethal outlaw with a knack for negotiating the park’s various criminal elements.

Meanwhile, Miranda Otto has exited the project — she has since landed a series-regular role on Season 5 of Homeland — and Babett Knudsen (Borgen) will now fill the part of terse operations leader, Theresa Cullen.

Westworld, which received a series order in November, is slated to premiere in 2015.

  1. I’m looking forward to this show very much.

  2. Of course, there must be some jokes about a former Pinocchio playing a real person in a world of mechanical Pinocchios.

  3. DanielleZ says:

Eion Bailey was on Ray Donovan last season. His character was a piece of work but he’s a good actor. Westworld is sounding more and more interesting.

  4. Don J says:

Minor correction to your article. The show was actually pushed back to 2016. HBO’s website mentions it.

  5. steven says:

August needed to be change back into Pinocchio, anyway. Geppetto may be worried sick.

  6. Gail says:

Always liked Eion on “Once”. Glad he was back for a couple of episodes last season. Were there ever any scenes between him and Jiminy Cricket on “Once” ? I don’t remember any as he had been turned completely into wood by the time everyone got their memory back.

  7. Walkie says:

Losing Otto is a huge hit. Not good.

  8. Harold Cutler says:

I hate horror films, especially sci-fi ones. Thank God that Star Trek and Star Wars are coming back!
