CW's Legends of Tomorrow Taps Tomorrow People Vet as Showrunner

DC's Legends of Tomorrow Phil Klemmer Showrunner

Legends of Tomorrow has found its leader.

The CW’s forthcoming Arrow/Flash spinoff has enlisted former Tomorrow People boss Phil Klemmer to serve as showrunner, TVLine has learned.

Legends reunites Klemmer with fellow Tomorrow People EP Greg Berlanti. The two also worked together on Golden Boy and Political Animals.

Klemmer’s other EP/writer credits include Chuck, Veronica Mars (he co-penned the Season 1 fan favorites “Ruskie Business” and “M.A.D.”) and Undercovers. He recently served as a consulting producer on ABC’s late drama Forever.

Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter will exec-produce Legends alongside Berlanti and Klemmer.

So happy for him :) The second half of season one of The Tomorrow People was phenomenal, I’m still mourning the loss of that show. At least this one’s not getting cancelled any time soon.

    • yurie says:

Yeah, TTP’s first half was mediocre like Arrow in it’s first season but become great towards the end.

  2. Joey Padron says:

happy Phil is the showrunner for show! he did good job with The Tomorrow People.

  3. CourtTV says:

TTP was one of my favorites last year. If he hasn’t already, this bodes well for Robbie Amell signing on, right?

    • yurie says:

No, he won’t be on the show. Not sure about The Flash Season 2 either other than an appearance in the first episode. Some whispers are being heard about Robbie break away from tv wanting to do more movies after The Duff was a hit.

      • Lizo says:

If that’s true, it’s a mistake. He should take the time on a tv show to learn and hone his craft. He’s not that good of an actor; look at how much Stephen has learned since he started on Arrow.
There are more talents actors going for the same roles he would go for, so he needs to find a way to stand out…and honestly get better at acting. And I like him. Plus, sticking around is a great way to build up a fanbase, which he’ll need if he wants to compete with Liam Hemsworth on any level.

    • JC says:

I don’t get all the fuss about Robbie Amell. I don’t think he’s needed on any of the Arrowverse shows.

Writing credits for Chuck and Forever, I’m in!!!
