USA Network's Mr. Robot Adds Shield, Queer as Folk and Smash Alums

Mr Robot Cast

Fresh off its feting at the Tribeca Film Festival, USA Network’s Mr. Robot has fleshed out its cast.

Premiering June 24, the techno thriller stars Rami Malek (The Pacific) as Elliot, a cyber-security engineer by day/vigilante hacker by night who is recruited by the leader (Christian Slater) of an underground group to destroy the very firm, E Corp, he is paid to protect. The regular cast also includes Portia Doubleday (Mr. Sunshine), Carly Chaikin (Suburgatory) and Martin Wallström.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Michele Hicks (The Shield) has boarded the drama in the recurring role of Sharon Knowles, New York State’s Chief Information Security Officer. With a resume spanning the private, non-profit, and public spheres, Sharon is always looking for new challenges.

Michael Cristofer (Smash, right), Mr Robot Castmeanwhile, will recur as Phillip Price, the E Corp CEO who in the face of corporate backstabbing, scandal and increasing instability, relies on the counsel of Sharon, his confidante. Relative newcomer Mitchell Winter will play Anwar, Price’s executive assistant.

Additionally, Randy Harrison (Queer as Folk, top photo) will recur as Harry, the stalwart spouse of AllSafe executive Gideon Goddard (Michael Gill) aka Elliot’s daytime boss.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD I have to watch this for Randy!

  2. Jon says:

Oh, come on. You mention Michael Cristofer and *don’t* refer to him as the gloriously named Truxton Spangler from Rubicon? For shame!

  3. Ashley says:

Wow. As this loaded, I was wondering who it’d be from QAF. I was hoping Gale, but expecting Robert Gant ’cause he’s still around. Randy didn’t even come to mind ’cause I never expected him to return to TV. I was going to watch it already, so it’ll be extra great to see him on it.

  4. wrstlgirl says:

I may or may not have been watching QAF basically nonstop for the past few weeks since I found out it was on Netflix. Welcome back to TV, Randy!

  9. I couldn’t care less what this is or what it’s about, as long as Randy is in it, I’m in!

  10. Melinda says:

I am reading for something new to watch. Cast sounds like a great group. I can’t wait to see Randy Harrison even though it sounds like it will spporatically.
