PlayStation's Powers Trailer Promises the End of the World As We Know It

As the great philosopher Kanye West once said, “No one man should have all that power.”

The trailer for Powers, PlayStation’s adaptation of the Brian Michael Bendis/Michael Avon Oeming graphic novel series, drives that point home — to say the very least.

The new project, co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, follows two detectives — Christian Walker (played by District 9‘s Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (The Following‘s Susan Heyward) — tasked with investigating homicide cases involving people with superpowers.

Eddie Izzard (The Riches) also stars as the season’s Big Bad, Wolfe, who looks like quite the adversary for the crime-solvers.

In the video above, Christian and Deena find out exactly what they’re up against, and it might be more than they can handle (even if they’re not “just regular cops”).

Press PLAY on the trailer for a preview of the season, then hit the comments with your thoughts!

feels like its taking forever for them to release this show

  2. Looks even worse than the first trailer. Ugh.

Just watched the first episode, and it’s pretty good. Hope they stick around and follow the Buffy formula (episodes alternate between seasonal arc important and freak-or-freakshow-of-the-week). Looking forward to more.

  4. Can this series be watched anywhere else besides the Play Station Network? itunes? Amazon Instant Video? Other?

I have a PS3, so I watched episode 1 there. I’m not a gamer who plays online stuff, so I have no need for a PlayStationPlus, and I’ll be damned if I have have to pay $14.99 just to watch the show, so I’m interested to know if this will be something released later on Hulu or something. The pilot was 2383 MB, and it took about 45 minutes to download, so if I want to keep anything it takes forever.
