Pilot News: Glee's Jane Lynch to Star as CBS' Angel From Hell

Jane Lynch Angel From Hell

The woman behind Sue Sylvester is lining up her next larger-than-life character.

Emmy winner Jane Lynch will follow up her Glee run with the title role in CBS’ comedy pilot Angel From Hell, our sister site Deadline reports.

In the project, brassy and flamboyant Amy (to be played by Lynch) enters a young woman named Allison’s life, claiming to be her guardian angel. They form an unlikely friendship, though Allison can’t be sure if Amy is indeed an angel or just nuts.

Angel From Hell hails from writer-executive producer Tad Quill (Bent, Scrubs).

Don’t know when her other show Hollywood Game Night is coming back for its new season over on NBC.

  2. Trevor Hale says:

So this show is BASICALLY Rob Thomas’ “Cupid” (1998/2009 – take your pick, though I much preferred 1998) meets “Touched By An Angel”?

  3. Babygate says:

I don’t know that I’d watch but just reading the description and imagining Jane in the part made me laugh. She’s perfect for it.

  4. Floyd Smith says:

This would be a perfect companion show for Mom! Allison Janney and Jane Lynch in the same hour. I’m there!!!!

  5. H says:

I can help you with your dilemma Allison: if a woman enters your life claiming to be an Angel, she’s crazy. Run, run for your life!

  6. Rafael says:

Jane Lynch’s Glee character may get officially terminated at the end of this season, that I predict.

  7. So not happy about this. She was too busy with Glee, and Hollywood Game Night. And now ironically she’ll have a comedy on the same network as a show she was supposedly going to come back to for an arc.

    Hmm… something smells fishy.

Not sure what the issue is. With Glee ending, she will have time for this, plus whatever show you are referring to.HGN does not take much time, I’m sure, so there is no reason to think that she cannot do all of these.

  8. KC says:

Perfect! Love Jane, she is so funny and this sounds like a great show for her. So happy we’ll be seeing all the Glee alum – Lea on Scream Queens, Darren on Broadway, Chris in Noel, on and on.

  9. Julia says:

Good for her! This will be a lot of fun.

  10. DavidSask says:

This is immediate fail, period!, Stop typecasting this woman, give her something normal and not mean!!!

  11. Sean says:

So glad she will have another show she deserves it. Not sure why her game show was cancelled. But then again most of those shows only come on for a year and disappear which is sad, because it was allot of fun and you felt like the stars brought on were just being themselves not all full of bs. Good luck Jane you deserve it and honestly though your characters are usually sassy etc you really seem to have a great heart.

I´ll never understand what people consider funny about her.
