Vanessa Williams has the power to turn Fox’s Fantasy Life into a nightmare.
The multiple Emmy-nominated Ugly Betty vet has landed a leading role on the network’s upcoming comedy pilot, our sister site Deadline reports.
Executive-produced by and starring Entourage‘s Kevin Connolly — and based on a memoir by ESPN’s Matthew Berry — Fantasy Life follows Mitch, a hard-working guy who lands his dream job hosting a fantasy football show and must navigate office politics while achieving stardom.
Williams will play Terry, the abrasive but compassionate SVP of Programming at a major sports network — and Mitch’s new boss.
Tim McAuliffe (Bad Teacher, Up All Night) will pen the pilot.
Williams has also starred on Desperate Housewives, Boomtown, 666 Park Avenue and Lifetime’s TV movie The Trip to Bountiful. She will next appear on an upcoming episode of The Mindy Project.
