Pilot News: Fargo's Colin Hanks to Star in CBS' Life in Pieces Comedy

Colin Hanks Life in Pieces

Colin Hanks is trading in his police badge for a diaper bag.

The Fargo actor has been cast as a lead in CBS’ comedy pilot Life in Pieces, our sister site Deadline reports.

The single-camera project tells the story of one family through the separate perspectives of its different family members. Hanks will star as Greg, the youngest of three siblings who is wholly unprepared for the birth of his first child.

Justin Adler (Better Off Ted) will pen the pilot and Aaron Kaplan (The Mysteries of Laura) will executive-produce.

Hanks received an Emmy, Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice nomination for his turn as police officer Gus Grimly in Season 1 of FX’s Fargo miniseries. His other recent TV credits include Bad Teacher, NCIS and Dexter.

Sounds like a Parenthood style drama. If it’s anywhere near as good as that show, I would watch.

How can anyone list his TV credits without mentioning Mad Men and Roswell (which he was a series regular)?
