Pilots: The CW Adds Cheerleader Death Squad, From Marc Cherry/Neal Baer

What if Nikita and Hellcats had a sexy baby?

The CW’s fourth pilot order of the season goes to the colorfully titled, set-my-season-pass-already Cheerleader Death Squad, which will be penned and executive-produced by Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives), Neal Baer (Law & Order: SVU) and Dan Truly (Blue Bloods).

The premise: When a disgraced CIA agent who now teaches at an elite Washington, D.C. prep school realizes that his students have high-level access through personal connections, he trains a select few to be his eyes and ears into the world of international espionage, with the hope of earning his way back into the Agency.

Earlier this week, The CW ordered pilots for a Tales From the Darkside reboot, the Julie Plec-produced outbreak drama Cordon, and Dead People (in which a cabbie sees ghosts).

Depending on the tone of this show, it could be very stupid or very good

  2. Wordsmith says:

On a separate note, isn’t it a bit redundant to label any hybrid of Nikita and Hellcats “sexy”? That just seems to go without saying.

  3. Aisha says:

I read a book with this premise and it was pretty good, but this title really isn’t doing it any favours

  4. Dude says:

I hope they pass on this. It just sounds dumb. Like a live action Totally Spies.

  5. Roguesfanboy says:

Wasn’t this a pilot for 2014-2015 season that didn’t work out? It sounds oddly familiar….

  6. Aleana says:

This sound interesting I would tune in who I like to see in this show
    Britt Robertson
    AnnaSophia Robb
    Mackenzie Rosman
    Kay Panabaker
    Abby Ross
    Kris Alderson
    Brittany Underwood
    Camille Winbush

  7. Christy says:

Well, hell. I’m gonna watch it for the title alone.

  8. Guest says:

Great so that means without a shadow of a doubt that the amazing show the 100 won’t make it to a third season because of now this third new stupid show the CW had decided to take on..while awful shows like TVD and arrow and flash will survive. Ugh.

    • Riana says:

      100’s already renewed

    • Sarah says:

Talk about an overreaction. Hasn’t the 100 been renewed?

    • James says:

Umm agree that the 100 is a great show but it’s already been renewed

    • Caleb says:

You’re welcome to your opinion. The only shows that I watch on the CW are Arrow and Flash. They perform higher and bring in greater ad revenue. Sure, sometimes the writing and acting isn’t as good as it should be, but they have a little leeway because of the nature of the shows.

I think it’s time for TVD to end. I’d be more interested in this show if they were assassins killing people but I’ll give it a shot.

  9. Boiler says:

Gee the CW has as many awful pilots as ABC

  10. Ally Oop says:

Yuck. As soon as I read Cheerleader in the title I gave this show a pass.

  11. James says:

    Totally Spies

  12. uk-usa-tvaddict says:

So are they spying on their parents and relations or are they spying on their parent’s associates? And will any of the ‘evidence’ they gather be legal? Lastly it seems sort of creepy that a 35+ year old man is secretly training 16 year olds to do something that their parents are unaware of.

  13. Letti says:

I’m really dissapointed with these CW pilot orders. Both iZombie and The Messengers look more promising.

  14. Nate says:

So D.E.B.S. on tv. Can’t wait for the cast

  15. Liz says:

didn’t i hear about this script like 3 or 4 years ago? did marc cherry revamp it enough to get someone to bite?
