The Walking Dead First Look: 'What Happened' to Michonne?

Take a gander at the exclusive portrait of The Walking Dead’s Michonne that AMC’s monster smash sent out to promote its Feb. 8 midseason premiere, then we’ll discuss.

The heroine’s intense gaze suggests that, even after Beth’s demise, it’s risky business as usual, right? But what we see may not be what we get. Behind the survivor’s steely façade, all the letdowns and losses have taken a toll, one that will manifest itself when the show returns with “What Happened and What’s Going On.”

And trust us when we say that Michonne’s display of vulnerability won’t be the biggest shock in the episode.

Any guesses as to what will be? Check out our exclusive photo below, then hit the comments with your best theories.

First look? Meh. Nothing new here that would let me know this photo was from the first epi of the back-half of this season, or when she first found Andrea.

  2. its neegen says:

I think its her, glenn, maggie, rick and carl kneeling before neegen and for those who read the comics you know what happens next ising good

    • jbkorn02 says:

There is no chance they will have the same thing happen to the same person as in the comics. With the major deaths already so close together I think who gets it in the comics will be around for years to come. Just my theory.

  3. Karen says:

I only hope they don’t turn Machonne into a shadow of her former self. Keep her strong and menacing. She is a great character.

  4. Spence says:

She probably looks horrified because of how terrible the writing was for Beth’s final scene. No, I can’t and won’t let it go!

  5. relaxxx says:

The first photo is old. The second one is just like a Sears portrait. You can’t tell what’s going on. Its always wonderful to see anything with Michonne so I will just basck in all her pretty. Awesome photos!

  6. Jax&Juice's Girl says:

There’s to nothing to tell or see from the photo in the trailer she’s ranting about their situation. I love Dani Gurria portraying Michonne who’s one my favorites on the show…they better not have her in the back ground ALOT this time in 2nd half of S5 I want to see her kick more walker ass and more dialogue she needs to talk more! she’s a strong character that can’t be WASTED!

I sense chum in the water. Find the shark. I watch TV for entertainment, not to exhaust myself with the “getting a sense” of the meaning of life. Move it along, it will run it’s course, and finally end. If this ep. was what I expect this season to be, very thankful for fast-forward DVR function.

  7. Bill says:

…they should’ve DEFINITELY featured more penis meat tho…seriously-

  8. =LoS= says:

That one scene where her lip is quivering, then she’s grasping to stay somewhere safe or go to DC….She’s gonna break down.

  9. Lydia says:

I think Michonne, might think about going off by herself, because it’s easier to watch out for yourself then to watch your back and a lot of other people’s back as well, she’s good with that sword. And her downfall will be the welfare of those kids. Then again Michonne might be killed off the show soon, before her pregnancy starts to show

  10. Ed says:

I am a little disappointed that they killed off the 2 most caring and non combative people in the group but I guess like they say in real it’s the strong and tough that servive and in the Times they are in Tyrese was strong but he was becoming to soft for the job at hand Beth on the other hand was just a casualty of war which brings groups together and makes them stronger. My question however is, do any of you think them traveling to D.C. is the right move? I personally would think they should head them to a coastal area
