Premiering Dec. 16 at 8/7c, Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas retells the story of Buddy’s journey to New York City, combining aspects of both the original film and the Broadway stage production.

Here’s the first official shot from the special, featuring Buddy, Santa and — of course — Mr. Narwhal:

Knock knock knock “Santa?” Knock knock knock “Santa?”…

  2. Bryce says:

She filmed scenes in November 2013 to be aired up until March 2015? I’m not super savvy on soap opera production, but that doesn’t feel right…

    • Danyelle says:

Days is well known to tape a riduclous amount ahead of schedule.

      • Bryce says:

That seems unreal. She hasn’t worked on the show for a year then? Maybe I shouldn’t try to understand the soap world.

      • Ashley says:

Still, that seems highly unusual, considering James and Alison announced their departure earlier this year, and his final scenes just aired recently and Alison is still on air for now. She may have meant it in a way that she’ll be filming scenes in November, not that she filmed them a year ago. That would make the scenes sixteen months old by the time they get there? Soaps usually have a four-six month gap between what’s filming and what’s airing. That gap is highly bizarre.

  3. Tran says:

This isn’t good for fans of DAYS heading into their 50th anniversary next year. First James Scott whose character EJ DiMera got killed off one week ago then Alison Sweeney whose ending her run after 20 plus years is coming up in less than a week and now Chrishell Stause is leaving Salem until her character Jordan Ridgeway is heading off into the sunset until March 2015.

A Buddy the Elf animated special? When was this announced?

  5. Maddy says:

Correction TV Line: Adam is still a recuring character on Haven cause his name appears in the guest starring.
