Ratings: Millers Steady, Jane Ticks Down, Voice, Castle and Blacklist Slip

The Millers Season 2 Ratings

CBS’ The Millers christened its new Season 2 time slot on Monday night with 8.9 million total viewers and a 2.1 demo rating (per finals), down sharply from both its series launch (13 mil/2.3) and last week’s 8:30 Big Bang Theory rerun (11.4 mil/2.8) but on par with both its freshman finale (9.8 mil/2.3) and its most recent retention out of Big Bang.

Sheldon & Co. opened the Eye’s night with 16 mil/4.6, up in eyeballs and a tenth in the demo. With a new lead-in, Scorpion (10.8 mil/2.4) dipped 6 percent in audience while steady in the demo. NCIS: LA (8.8 mil/1.7) ticked up a tenth in the demo.

Elsewhere….

NBC | The Voice (12 mil/3.4) fell 10 and 15 percent week-to-week, while The Blacklist (9.3 mil/2.4) slipped 4 and 14 percent.

FOX | Gotham (6.1 mil/2.3) dipped 5 percent and a tenth, while Sleepy Hollow (5 mil/1.8) ticked up.

ABC | With football subtracted out, Dancing With the Stars (12.6 mil/2.0) was steady, but Castle (8.8 mil/1.5) slipped 20 percent.

THE CW | With football subtracted out, The Originals (1.3 mil/0.6) ticked down a tenth, while Jane the Virgin (1.4 mil/0.5) wound up off 12 percent and a tenth from its debut.

  1. Dean says:

Pretty good for scorpion what’s happening to blacklist? It use to get higher 2’s sometimes 3’s.

  2. Ray says:

It won’t be long before Gotham dips below Sleepy Hollow’s numbers.

Also, glad to see a non-genre scripted drama doing relatively well by CW’s standards. Not everything on the network needs to be a spinoff or superhero related.

  3. DF12398 says:

happy about scorpion’s ratings! i guess the ultimate test will be when Big Bang theory isnt there to help the Millers

  4. Bryce says:

An uptick in the second episode? Rare and amazing!

  5. ted says:

    Go Sleepy Hollow!
Will jane virgin be adjusted down at least?

  6. Tran says:

TBBT will be missed on Mondays but I’m happy that the hit sitcom is moving back to Thursdays in just nine days.

  7. The Nation says:

I am concerned about the Blacklist, the numbers are dropping, and taking a “Revolution like” break coming up and then moving to Thursdays is only going to make things worse….I would be surprised if come March these numbers are closer to only 6 or 7 million

  8. Dani says:

Happy Sleepy Hollow is up. This show just keeps upping the crazy.

  9. Letti says:

As long as The Originals is steady I’m fine. Unlike TVD, this one is getting better and better each episode.

  10. Babybop says:

    Hooray Sleepy Hollow!

  11. The Originals holding steady! Hell yeah!

  12. HAP says:

It seems peculiar that while Scorpion and Blacklist were tied in the demo, Scorpion had a significantly greater total tune in. Would this suggest that older folks go to bed early?

    • Matt Webb Mitovich says:

At the very least it means that while more people watch SCORPION, they are on average older (age 50+) people.

  13. Joel Phillips says:

What’s with the Millers and the canned laughter. VERY ANNOYING.

  14. leo says:

loving jane such a good show!

  15. aaj says:

Notice that Castle dropped rather significantly, right? I mean, the ratings are lower than the newer shows. Is anyone (i.e. the writers) taking notice that viewers are dropping Castle, once a favorite, for new and more interesting shows? I am very sad to say that I’m not really interested in it any more, and I wonder if anyone’s being called on it.

  16. DarkDefender says:

That’s a huge drop for Castle.. I’m getting worried.. From 10/11 mil down below 9? I sure hope the wedding pulls it back up.. Should we be worried yet about the renewal chances or is this just a hiccup in an otherwise up ticked season? (Or is it too soon to tell?)
