Garret Dillahunt Sam Elliott Justified

Justified is adding some new faces to its sixth and final season.

Garret Dillahunt (Raising Hope, Burn Notice) and veteran actor Sam Elliott (whose most recent TV gig was Parks and Recreation) will recur on the FX drama, which returns January 2015, the network announced today.

Dillahunt will play Walker, a spec-ops veteran who handles security for a quasi-legal businessman. The combined irritants of Raylan and Boyd will bring to the surface the monster lurking beneath his cold exterior.

Elliott, meanwhile, has been cast as legendary Kentucky gangster Markham, who returns from exile to win back his empire and his lost love, Katherine Hale (played by Mary Steenburgen). He’ll butt heads with Raylan and Boyd and even Katherine, who secretly believes that he is the rat who brought down her husband.

  1. Daven C says:

Well, I’ve never really been a fan of the show, but this casting makes it at least a ‘check it out’ on my list. Love both Garrett and Sam.

  2. SonOfCoul says:

I am shocked that it has taken this many seasons for Justified to cast either of these guys, because they are both perfect fits.

  3. Matthew Weber says:

Looking forward to Justified, but I’m glad it’s the last season. It seems a bit played out.

  4. IMHO says:

Love Garret Dillahunt . I’m really looking forward to this Deadwood reunion !

  5. Eric says:

Both Garrett and Sam are perfect for Justified! This casting news makes me so very happy. Also, Nick Frost on Doctor Who = excellence.

  6. DavidJ says:

I actually really liked this last season of Justified, although I agree it’s probably about time for the show to end. Even when a show is written well, it can still start to feel a bit repetitive after awhile.

  7. James says:

I don’t watch Justified, but I think it’s fun to see Sam and Mary together again, as they played a couple in the movie Did You Hear About the Morgans?.

  8. Eliza says:

Love Garret Dillahunt. And Sam Elliott has been my ‘much older’ man crush for years. Love him. So, yay, perfect castings for a great show!

  9. Rich Abey says:

Loved Nick Frost and his various characters on his movie trilogy with Simon Pegg & Edgar Wright, especially his bedraggled drinking village cop in “Hot Fuzz”. Similar to incoming ‘Late Late Night Show’ host James Cordon’s turn with the 11th Doctor in Doctor Who, Frost will be a blast!

  10. carole says:

I’d probably kill for one more season of Justified!!!!! Love Sam & Mary, Garett is great addition to the mix. On another note…..seeing Boyd on SOA as “Venus” is so unsettling. HaHa
