The Game of Thrones vet and recent 24 baddie has landed a season-long arc on ABC’s Resurrection, TVLine has confirmed, playing Margaret Langston, the “formidable” matriarch of the Langston family and thus mother of Henry and Fred (played by Kurtwood Smith and Matt Craven).

Dead for over three decades, Margaret “returns” bearing knowledge of her brood’s dark past — secrets she is determined to keep hidden.

Our sister site Deadline was among the first to break the casting news.

  1. Akira91 says:

    SPOILER GOT…………………………
    Wrong series to return!!! :O

  2. Moment says:

Well deserved role for a great actress. Hopefully Resurrection continues to perform well, and people stick around for Revenge afterwards. I wouldn’t mind seeing a Once Season 5, and Revenge Season 5 announcement come April/May next year, along with Season 3 of Ressurection on ABC. Here’s to a successful Sunday for ABC.

  3. Nicole says:

Very much looking forward to her appearance. She plays bad but proactive mother quite well.

  4. Herman1959 says:

I’m not familiar with the actress, but I’m loving this story line. All hell is going to break loose in the Langston clan when she shows up, and I’ll be watching.

  5. mary says:

She plays evil very well. Looking forward to it

  6. Jon Snow says:

Michelle is great actress, love her! Can’t wait.

  7. Fred says:

‘Season-long arc’, that means she’ll be a series regular, right?

    • Matt Webb Mitovich says:

      Nope. Recurring.

      • Grey says:

So this means she will be free to do…you know…other things?

        • Moment says:

Absolutely, if she has the offers. It will all depend however on what episodes she appears in though and how much of a role she has. You know, scheduling.

        • Joey says:

If you’re referring to that one….other thing, they pretty much spelled out that it isn’t happening.

          • Jimmy says:

no they didn’t it. they must be trolling us. Why else have the same storyline for Brienne and Brotherhood like in the books which she plays a big part of.

          • Joey says:

@Jimmy: They didn’t even include the Brotherhood Without Banners in season four. They (I believe it was actually Benioff, Weiss, and Alex Graves) actually came out and said there wasn’t even any discussion on whether THIS would be included or not, that it was always assumed that it wasn’t included. Also, Brienne’s storyline has changed drastically from the books. As far as Brienne knows in the books, Arya is dead, and in her last appearance in AFFC, she’s still looking for Sansa.

          • Harry says:

Glad to see you guys wentfrom vague references to outright spelling out which series you’re referring to.

To which I must say, I can’t wait to see the return of Hermione’s mother either.

  8. Brigid says:

I really love this show if for no other reason then the superior acting skills of Omar Epps, Francis Fisher and Kurtwood Smith. Every time they were on screen I couldn’t take my eyes off them. I felt everything that their character felt and they are the main reason I stuck with the show. I’m excited for the 2nd season and the edition of Michelle Fairly.

  9. kirads09 says:

    ooooohhhh fangirl squeeee yessss!!!

  10. arrowfan says:

Jack Bauer kills her and she is back alive as “Margaret”

  11. Jimmy says:

@joey. What they were talking about were SEASON 4 not the whole show. Even Graves said that showrunners are very secret with their plans

and what are you talking about with Brotherhood did you not see/hear Arya mention Thoros and Beric in her “updated” kill list you do know they are Brotherhood without banners right.

And no Brienne’s storyline is still basically the same. She has the oath and pledge to Cat she is carying Oathkeeper sword, She is out looking for the stark girls with Poddrick just like in the books and it concluded with her going after Arya now that they found her. So what is different here enlighten me and the rest of us

And So what if she knows Arya is alive so does the Brotherhood in the books as well.

  12. Jax&Juice's Girl says:

Ok, since she only has a recurring role on this series does that mean she could be back on Game of Thrones to play dead Catelyn Stark aka Lady Stoneheart?
