Executive-produced by 24‘s Howard Gordon and with a cast that includes Adam Rayner, Jennifer Finnigan, Ashraf Barhom and Moran Atias, the political thriller Tyrant follows the son of the dictator of a war-torn nation as he ends a self-imposed 20-year exile to return to his homeland, accompanied by his American wife and kids — only to discover that leaving isn’t so easy.

The Bridge, FX’s acclaimed adaptation of the Danish series Bron, will then open its sophomore run on Wednesday, July 9 at 10 pm.

  2. Jon says:

The Bridge is hands down one of the best shows on television. It took a while to get going, but once it got it’s pace right it was flawless. Can’t wait for season 2.

I love the first season of The Bridge as well. I don’ t think it got (or has gotten) the type of “buzz” it deserves. Glad it got a second season though! Real curious to see where they go with it this year.

  4. CGS says:

I thought the point of FXX was to air comedies that would have been on FX…so, why do they BOTH air comedies? Weird.

Looking forward to how Carlton Cuse makes lemonade out of the lemon that was The Strain trilogy. He has a knack for characters – Bates Motel is fantastic (not to mention Lost). The characters in the books were cardboard and I had no sympathy for any of them. The mythology was also fairly ridiculous, but if Cuse has creative license this could end up decent.

  7. Scott says:

I can’t wait for season 2 of The Bridge; along with the first seasons of Tyrant and The Strain. It’s interesting the The Strain will air on Sunday nights. When is the last time FX aired a show on Sundays nights(if ever)?

I thought that FX might try one of the dramas on Thursday even though they have shown comedies lately on Thursday. Good question about Sundays.

  8. Ruby says:

Really bummed Wilfred is going away…I love that little messed up show. Will definitely be watching The Strain for Aaron Douglas.

  9. Landy says:

I LOVE FX “The Bridge”. Can’t get enough of it. Best show Ever!

“The Strain” sounds like it’s about someone who is constipated.

  11. James says:

I saw FX’s ‘The Bridge’ before the original Danish version and then compared them both with ‘The Tunnel’. These two adaptions are a great creative endorsement of Danish scriptwriters.
