Love Damon, but I’m weirdly not a Coach fan. I was hoping he’d be able to find a show that utilized him better.

    • Ryan says:

They might have been limited in stories since he was a “recurring”, since he could have moved to another project at anytime. Since he’s now a regular, they have a more freedom to expand on Coach

      • e says:

totally agree with this. now that coach is sticking around, i think they can flesh out the character much better since they don’t have to worry about coach mysteriously disappearing again. coach brings a grounding presence to the group, who have become complete caricatures of themselves at this point. i hope the show can find its footing again in season four!

    • Henry says:

It’s the writing. They have a hysterically funny guy like this and give him totally boring, unfunny “coach” crap. Totally misused, and he adds nothing to this sinking show as is. Asinine to have him as “coach.” Stupid character, stupid back story, and they fail to utilize his natural talents. Terrible writing and executive producing.

  2. ggny says:

So im guessing his Pilot is dead then?

  3. Ryan says:

    Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

  4. Spoiler Junkie says:

At first, his return seemed forced but he has slowly gelled with the rest of the cast over the course of Season 3. Happy to see him as a regular now.

  5. Liz says:

Happy that Damon is staying I love Coach. Now if the writers could only pick a direction and go with it things might be looking up.

    • MM says:

The writing on this show is terrible. The acting is great, but the writing SUCKS. The Coach character could not be worst. To have Damon, who is great, in such a stupid role is ridiculous. He was brilliant in “Happy Endings” and they have him doing nothing in this show but mugging like the other characters. With good writing, this could be a great show. Right now, it’s average at best. Look at this season. What happened? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The “big eyes” and mugging at each other was old last year. This year it’s just stupid.

  8. dru says:

well, good for Damon, but Coach is completly redundant

  9. I’m so happy about this! I love the dynamic of the group since he returned. I especially love how it’s changed Winston’s personality. It’s just great. Can’t wait for more!

  10. Christy says:

  12. Teag says:

Yes! He fits so well with the other guys. Him and Winston are the best together though.

  13. Sara says:

Great news! He is such a good addition!

  14. Thank you for the good writeup. It in fact was a
amusement account it. Look advanced to far added agreeable from you!

By the way, how could we communicate?

  15. DebLG says:

    Yay!!!!!!!

  16. Briana says:

I’m really glad to hear that. He’s a great actor and I like what he brings to the show. He’s a great match with that cast.

  17. I like this decision. He really was one of the only highlights this season.

  18. Ella says:

I love him but they seriously need to flesh out Coach. That being said, it still breaks my heart that this show is still on the air and Happy Endings was cancelled. The latter had a much better cast and much better writing.

    • dman6015 says:

They’ll expand his character now that Wayans is a regular. You don’t invest much in a recurring character.

  19. Joe says:

So this is it then, Happy Endings is definitely not coming back then.

  20. Lu says:

YAYYYYYYYYYY. I love Damon, he’s such a sweetie and I’d love to see more Coach/Jess shenanagans what with him being a PE teacher and her the Vice Principal.

  21. kidstellar says:

awesome news but the show needs to get back to basics no more Nick and Jess they were both much more interesting when they weren’t together.

  22. Joey Padron says:

Happy he got promoted. He’s been great this season. Can’t wait for more Coach storylines next season.

  23. JM says:

UGH! His character is so pointless. Give more airtime to Winston instead!!!

  24. lindsay says:

Blah, I think his character’s mix with the ensemble is part of what majorly didn’t work for me last season.

More Winston, more loveable weirdo Schmidt, more ranting Nick, less lovesick Jess, and less Coach, please!
