The True Blood actor has nabbed the lead in Amazon’s drama pilot Cocked, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The project — from Samuel Baum (Lie to Me) and Sam Shaw (Manhattan) — follows an estranged son (Trammell) who must return to work with his father and brother at his family’s gun manufacturing company after a corporate rival, run by their uncle, tries to take them over.

The final season of True Blood debuts this June.

The 16-hour “No More Excuses” marathon, hosted by the actress and her SVU co-stars Ice-T, Danny Pino and Kelli Giddish, starts at 10 am on April 27.

* TNT has unveiled a new extended trailer for its upcoming new series The Last Ship, starring Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy), Rhona Mitra (Strike Back) and Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Chuck). The drama, from executive producer Michael Bay (Transformers), premieres Sunday, June 22 at 9/8c.

    It looks like someone had the brilliant idea of taking J. Michael Straczynski’s series Crusade and set on Earth instead of in space.

    That’s not a bad thing. I’ll give it a shot.

      You forget, Crusade was on TNT. They’re the ones that ruined it. What makes you think the network won’t try to put it’s grubby mitts on this show?

    Sam, who plays “Sam” on TB, will be on a show penned by Sam and Sam. I love it.

    Amazon is on a roll with their dramas. I can’t wait to see more of Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle, and am curious to see more of Bosch and The After. They have several new dramas in the works that sound more interesting than what the networks have to offer.
