If ever a trailer screamed “Emmys!,” it’s the following star-studded, first full-length preview for HBO’s adaptation of Larry Kramer’s Tony Award-winning play The Normal Heart.

The film, airing May 25 at 9/8c, features an impressive cast that includes Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers), Matt Bomer (White Collar), Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) and Julia Roberts (August: Osage County).

Directed by Glee boss Ryan Murphy, Heart focuses on the rise of the HIV-AIDS epidemic in the 1980s from the perspective of activist Ned Weeks (played by Ruffalo).

* Workaholics’ Blake Anderson will make a guest appearance on Parks and Recreation‘s Season 6 finale, airing next Thursday, reports. He will play Mike Bean, one of the founders of Gryzzyl, a Bay Area tech start-up that Ben and Andy visit.

* Fox has shuttered its late-night Saturday comedy block Animation Domination High-Def, our sister site Deadline reports. The initiative now will target digital platforms like Hulu and develop potential shows for primetime.

* Stephen Lang (Terra Nova) will recur on WGN America’s first original series Salem, Deadline reports. The Avatar star will portray Increase Mather, a hardcore Puritan who led the way across the ocean to the Promised Land in the late 1600s.

* Bret Harrison (Breaking In, V, Reaper) has joined ABC’s straight-to-series drama The Astronaut Wives Club as hotshot spacewalker Gordon “Gordo” Cooper, per The Hollywood Reporter.

    The Normal Heart, ugh. I have a feeling Taylor Kitsch and Jonathon Groff are going to kill me. Their story just looks even more devastating than it sounds on paper. Can’t wait to see.
