The eight-episode series also stars Josh Hartnett (Black Hawk Down), Eva Green (Casino Royale), Rory Kinnear (Skyfall) and Billie Piper (Doctor Who).

  1. Gracie says:

This show is going to be awful. Showtime is better than this.

    • AT says:

I actually think it looks like it has a lot of promise. I watched a short behind the scenes and I was pleasantly surprised to see how familiar the showrunner was with the original literary sources this show borrows from as well as his knowledge of the history of storytelling in the past. Often with shows you see writers influenced by other TV Shows, here this writer seems influenced by actual great literature. That to me is a good sign. But only time will tell.

    • Temperance says:

It looks pretty spectacular to me. It has to fully embrace the freedoms that cable allows, though – no half measures.

    • Kevin says:

You really have no clue what you are talking about. This looks like the next big thing on tv the creators are Oscar Winners and it Stars the fantastic Eva Green. It also looks like we finally have a real horror show

  2. Janet Thompson Deaver says:

Timothy Dalton doesn’t do anything without thought. His being in “Penny Dreadful” gives it an A+ before anyone sees it!
