Olivia Wilde (House), Elyes Gabel (Body of Proof) and Shantel VanSanten (One Tree Hill) are among the latest actors to book pilots this winter.

* Wilde has landed a co-starring role in HBO’s untitled rock ‘n’ roll drama set in the 1970s, which follows the exploits of record label executive Richie Finestra (played by Boardwalk Empire‘s Bobby Cannavale). Wilde will play Richie’s wife Devon, a former actress/model.
* London-born Gabel, whose TV credits also include Game of Thrones and The Borgias, has landed the lead role of Walter in Scorpion, CBS’ drama about an eccentric genius who leads a network of super-geniuses in defending against threats of the modern age.
* Nora Dunn (Saturday Night Live) has joined The CW drama pilot iZombie, which follows Olivia, a yet-to-be-cast med student-turned-zombie who works in the coroner’s office to satisfy her insatiable hunger for brains. Dunn will play Olivia’s mother, who happens to be an administrator at the hospital.
* VanSanten (One Tree Hill) is returning to The CW in The Messengers, a drama about of a group of strangers responsible for preventing the apocalypse after a mysterious object lands on earth, according to The Hollywood Reporter. VanSanten will play a NASA scientist named Vera.
