Pilot Scoop: Anna Camp Is Damaged Goods In Awkward Creator's ABC Comedy

Anna Camp Cast ABC Damaged GoodsAnna Camp is right where we want her — as the female lead in a sitcom pilot.

TVLine has learned that the Pitch Perfect actress will star as the perceived Damaged Goods in ABC’s single-camera comedy about how sexual politics have changed between men and women in this post-feminist era.

Specifically, Camp will play Nicole, a smart and successful lawyer who is totally bewildered/betrayed when her boyfriend Tim (Smallville‘s Justin Hartley) tells her he can neither be happy for her nor continue to date if she takes a promotion at the law firm where they both work — a promotion he expected to get.

Lauren Iungerich (Awkward) penned the pilot, which co-stars Steve Talley (The Crazy Ones), Kellee Stewart (My Boys) and Ben Lawson (Neighbours).

Camp’s myriad TV credits include True Blood, The Mindy Project, Mad Men and not nearly enough episodes of The Good Wife.

  1. Riana says:

Can we just put her and Brittany on the same show?

  2. Sam says:

I hate the term “post-feminist” since we are living in an era where many people still think feminism has a way to go.

But otherwise, I love this idea, as long as the show paints Tim as a giant jerk.

  3. MY says:

So agree with you about her on The Good Wife. I wish she would come back for another arc! I want to see how Caitlin’s doing.

  4. ... says:

Love Anna Camp, not a fan of the concept or the creator.

  5. Ashley says:

Anna Camp is great; but the description sounds like a bad rom-com movie and not a sustainable TV show.

  6. Bella says:

Agreed. I like the actress, but don’t like the premise of the show. I might tune in, though, just because of her, and see how it goes.

  7. Zach says:

I was never a fan. She always seemed kind of annoying to me.
