Pilot News: Dave Annable, Chuck Alum and Enlisted Star Are Among the Latest Castings

* Annable has joined Fox’s Red Band Society, a coming-of-age drama about several teenagers from different backgrounds who become friends while living in a hospital. Annable will play Dr. William McAndrew, a pediatric oncologist and surgeon who struggles to remain detached from his patients.

* Best remembered as Chuck‘s Morgan Grimes, Gomez has boarded Ellen More or Less, NBC’s comedy pilot about a woman (Stacey McGunnigle) who reinvents herself after losing 100 pounds. Gomez will play Ellen’s co-worker Craig, who is described as clueless and in need of hand-holding.

* Currently seen on Fox’s Enlisted, Cabral has landed a lead in Two To Go, NBC’s comedy about two best friends — Kurt (to be cast) and Laura (Christine Woods) — whose friends insist they’re meant to be together. Cabral will play a Pilates instructor who’s married to stay-at-home dad Nick (Echo Kellum). This casting is in second position to Cabral’s Enlisted gig.

Paul F. Tompkins (Comedy Bang! Bang!) has been cast opposite Molly Shannon in Brian Gallivan’s untitled ABC comedy pilot about a family that moves to New Hampshire to open a series of tourist cottages. Tompkins will play the family’s overworked father who dreams of being “on vacation all year.”

* Lastly, Patrick Sabongui (Godzilla) is joining The CW’s Arrow spin-off The Flash, which follows scientist Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) as he adjusts to the super-speed he acquires during a freak accident. Sabongui will play Central City PD Captain David Singh, which could become a recurring role.
